I intend to ask a very pretty girl out (Not the one from the time machine 3 thread, I've tried 3 times over the course of 16 months, no dice). She seems to like me well enough.

I'm not totally inexperienced, I had a gf when I joined CFC over a year and just recently got dumped when the girl wanted someone whose tried to use her sex before but believe he's changed, go figure.

I've been turned down 16 times over the past 2 years, which I used a very direct approach. This approach historically is very unsuccesful and creates more probelms than it solves. I'd like some new ideas and feedback on my plan.

Simple, I ask her what she does after school and suggest we hang out.

This is usually done with minimal work put in before hand. My first success resulted from that direct approach 30 seconds after I met her (although I had help from her friend who was dating my friend and was present at the time and put in a good word).

I stepped it up on Valentine's day this year (time machine 3 thread girl), with a rose, a coalition was formed to remove me, it failed just as badly as I did.

Well, that just blew my hopes. I cant stand rejection

If you're just hanging out or whatever, i.e. on a completely innocent non-date, like pissing about at the shopping center or something, start acting as if you would on a date... subtley send "THIS IS A DATE!!!" messages at every opportunity. Flirt with her. Glance at her lips when you speak. Follow her into the bathroom. Eventually she'll realise that you're naked. But by then it'll be too late.

IMHO the direct approach is much, much better. However, perhaps you shouldn't push her to completely accept or reject you (and in front of her friends too). To show up with a rose is very romantic if she's already in love with you. If she "kind-of-likes-you" but haven't yet made up her mind, she might go for the less embarrassing alternative in front of her friends and reject you.

I'd suggest trying to find a moment alone with this new girl you found, and then asking her for a date in an "easier" fashion. "Would friday or saturday suit you better for a date?" is IMO better than "Would you like to go on a date with me?" IF you can ask such a nonchalant question with a bit of humor and charm.

It's really hard to tell wether you will be successfull or not. There are so many details that can actually matter a lot. But if you're direct, at least you are not wasting any time or chances.
The language of love would be easy to master if girls would not insist in changing the rules all the time.

just open your mouth and tell her you want to go on a date with her. Look man most girls are looking for a guy with a six pack, tall ..ect. so don't be surprised when she turns you down. Because in truth girls/women are just as shallow when it comes to choosing someone to date.

Believe me, you stay in shape you going to increase your chances of dating good-looking girls. some say to about 70%.

Not sure I know the situation well. Most girls will say yes if they've any idea who you are and are not currently obsessed with a boyfriend (in my limited experience).
The problem is that one date isn't much fun. Most girls also don't bother with a second, and don't do anything interesting on the first one (like make me laugh, or have sex). They just turn up for one meeting, say nothing, or else nothing worth saying, and then forget you.

Don't ask 'sometime' because she'll probably pick a time when you really want to be somewhere else. Suggest 'after hockey practice: give me half an hour to clean up and I'll meet you at 3.30', or ask if she wants to meet you after an early film. Then you can even pretend to change your mind and tell her to come to the film too. Just pick a time that you can afford to waste, because it probably will be a waste.
