Aspiring Rapper's MAFIA- Game Thread

Another meaningless question that sidesteps the issue at hand and provides no actual insight.

This is exactly what you do every game. You have conversations with people and poke and probe until you're certain of their alignment. It's what I do, too. Deflecting what you do from yourself and keeping on insisting others answer is hippocritical.

I'm not convinced that D1 voting is much better than rng. In my experience scum are lynched at about the rate you would expect from randomly drawing names out of a hat.

If you look at the lynch result, you are right that it's fairly random. But I'm seeing this from the perspective of wanting to lead a wagon to lynch(not all sure of who yet), and if that succeeds, based on what data I have, it will most likely be a scum getting lynched. So I'm not going to just start random wagons and hope for the best - that would just make it even easier for the scum to make a mislynch happen.

Well I never said that people should start random wagons. I said that it's important to have a few big wagons, and it's not hugely important who the wagons are for, because it's mostly a craphsoot anyways.

edited out Cuth's quote from #564 because I forgot to respond to it before clicking submit

And I won't stand by while you criticize that fine animal..

Zack is looking better from what he just posted. Don't know enough about Backwards to lynch, as well as Takhsis, who Visor and others insist is town. Willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

No, that is NOT what you said. You said "the people who are posting right now", which was me, you, Kennigit, and Lassie.

By right now I meant this day phase. The high posters. The ones that are fairly consistently in thread, posting. Myself included.

I really still hate your D1 is crap POV.

Probably because people like to think all the time they put into analysis produces an opinion that is significantly better than random, when it's actually not. Otherwise scum would never win.

Catching up again, family duties called :rolleyes:

@Pouter Pigeon

This is his only post.
It's not that I don't like his reads, but that I can see it being written from a person with a scum's perspective(meaning that person would be scum).
He calls a couple of people town, with basically no reasoning, and then drops a vote that he states is for pressure, which is sponged from someone else's theory.
It feels cautious of him to say that it is a pressure vote - why do that as town? If you want to pressure vote someone, the pressure doesn't really work if you say it's just a pressure vote.
Calling a couple of people towny without reasoning isn't exactly showing desire of solving things, could just as well be buddying to stay out of trouble.

I had pretty much these same thoughts on Xym, with the addition that the Town reads were also fairly easy/thread consensus. Probably a bit too reachy too early to go calling him Scum off the one post though. Would like to see more from Xym - with reasoning.

I did not.
Is Alette = Penny? Otherwise, should I know Alette?
Yup = Penny. Is that who you thought it was?

Lohrenswald is strong town based on the interactions I had with him early game, and also I liked his response to the part where I revealed who I was. (can't remember it exactly, but some semi-joking about him having FOS on everyone now). Might be I should take it down to medium/strong town read though, on second thought.

Glossysushi has been fairly outgoing and solvy so far, I see no reason to put her towards scummy. Is she all out of what I believe is her scum range? no - but she still looks better than most others in this game.

Muska had a first post that really gave me bad vibes, where his last line was something along with "only thin accusations so far", as a comment to the votes/suspicions that had been going on in thread. For a person who simply joins in to the thread and has nothing of his own mind to say, in regards of solving, it feels misplaced and unnecessary for him to say that as town. A later post of his also gave me sorta bad vibes, although I must admit I can't remember it on top of my head.

I agree most with the Lohr/Murska leas, although I wouldn't say they're strong.
What is your actual read on Glossy right now?

Cass trending up from that last post, good point about Sushi having a very similar opening in this game, as in the scum game you're linking.
Lassie,
1. Where do you and Glossysushi know each other from? Is it just MU?
2. How many games have you played together/how confident are you in your ability to read her?
3. Can you explain what makes her play seem 'solvy' to you?
4. Do you have thoughts on anything else I posted wrt Sushi?

@Glossy
Ty for links, will read these and compare before vote.
1. Any thoughts/comments on the rest of it?
2. Can you be more specific about your read on me and the concerns wrt the Cuth/Visor/Newyn overt-wolf thing? I don't get them and the general FoS at me for it seems opportunistic/reachy.

@Cass
"@Lassie
- Why didn't you just come forward and clear up the confusion before Glossy tipped you out?/What, if anything, did you take-away from the act?"

Because I find such confusion useful for making my reads, and it was quite entertaining , considering how obvious it was that I'm not Alette (1). Also, I knew Glossy knows that it is me and not Alette, so wanted to see if she'd play along with it or just reveal it right away as she did.(2)

1. Ok for the reads and entertainment :lol: it's obvious now that I know there's two players using that same screen name :P , but FTR it wasn't at the time. I absolutely thought you were Alette, which is why my focus was on you so hard (she's one of my new favourites to play with/read, I've only played with her as Town, and your play was nothing like what I'd seen from her!!).

2.
a) On the using it to make reads process - the bold suggests you knew I was confusing you with Alette. How'd you go from knowing the source of my confusion, and knowing your play was nothing like Alette's, to giving me a scum lean for highlighting exactly that at that point?

b) Why wait? /What would the point have been for Glossy to go along with it, as either alignment?

I'm very much on the fence here. Anyone else, i'd be scum leaning. But he has a habit of doing such actions, even as town. I have a null-lean so far.

If he stated with conviction of such, I would consider him townie-lean, but not town-lock.
Alright about the King Morgan read. He's the opposite of my Newyn read. King says pretty thought out things with the slimiest tone. On the other hand, Newyn has great tone but says the strangest things (see earlier analysis).

Probably because people like to think all the time they put into analysis produces an opinion that is significantly better than random, when it's actually not. Otherwise scum would never win.

The outcome for the first day may not be significantly better, but it also results in much more information for the last few days, and makes d1 very significant if a wolf is caught.

So now I know the pain of those who have complained the thread is too large. There's probably a couple of things I didn't catch up.

but anyway:

What do y'all mean high posters?
