When I was younger (When I was still Lutheran) I imagined Heaven as being synonymous with "hyperspace," basically outside the universe, and being in a state of omniessence and omnipresence.
It's heaven, just say "I want cheese" and voila!Perfection said:Well, since there's no animals there must be no cows and without cows where would we get the cheese for the pizza?

Heaven =
American standard wages but Chinese standard cost of living,
a Japanese wife,
French chefs,
German mechanics,
British police,
Swiss politicians,
and your lover is an Italian.
Hell =

a Japanese house,

and your lover is Swiss.

Yes, that's what I said, you create your own worlds! You can even go to them and live in them as a local and have no idea your the god of the world. That's my belif.Elta said:Heavan: you are a god in and of your self and you get to create your own worlds.... I wouldn't be suprised if god had a god either and we exisit only in his mind and his in his and his in hers etc etc
Sidhe said:Hell: just a temporary holding cell for sinners, most'll end up in heaven eventually, it's not some exclusive gentlemans club like it is in religion, there are prerequisits but anyone can make them given enough time and will.
That sounds good. And if you want you could always visit your friend's heaven if you wanted a break from your own.Solver said:What would make sense to me is for Heaven to be personal for everyone who gets there. That is, your Heaven would depend on what you like and what you want to see. Since the basic "idea" of Heaven is being a place where everyone can be happy, it would require for it to be different for everyone.
I expect that for most people, it would be something quite similar to Earth, just without the negative things, like crime, wars, illness, etc. The details would depend on the person. For a traveller and an adventurer, there would be an infinite amount of places to explore. For another person it would mostly be a house in a nice place, with his loved ones, and a huge library, for example. For someone else, it would be full of stadiums with the best football teams. It would really shape itself according to what makes every specific person happy.
Other possibilities don't really make much sense to me. Imagine a Heaven which is beautiful nature, animals, clean air, where you hang out with people, can play sports for however long you wish without getting (too) tired, and such. Sounds good? Maybe. But for a person who wants to be alone or with maybe 2-3 his closest people, who always preferred staying at home cooking and reading books, that wouldn't be a happy place. So accordingly such a person would have to get what they like.

Rik Meleet said:I think I would become very unhappy in Heaven. Assuming that everyone is "good" and behaving "good" it would be a very boring place.
There are people on earth that I deeply dislike and if they go to Heaven (assuming I'm there as well) then either I am going to do bad stuff to them (not possible in Heaven) or I and him will be different and if I am not myself does that mean that it is really me that went to heaven or simply a soul-double ???
Hmm, purgatory's not too bad then.Thats because Canada = Purgatory maybe?
Sorry, but I think it will be Hell for you, if you demand that Heaven meet your standards. It sounds like you would want to go there without forgiving those you dislike.Rik Meleet said:I think I would become very unhappy in Heaven. And no Hell for me please either. Too crowded.
