If there is that much deads, I doubt it'll be avoidable. Tensions are pretty high about immigration these days, especially with the Syrian problem, so if it's yet another islamic attack, it will certainly have an effect.

The Daily Beast says the French National Police have deployed their special forces unit, RAID, to the concert hall of the Batacalan arts center.

Hollande is declaring "state of emergency" and closing French borders.

Looking back the 70s seem to have been worse for those sort of things.

Get a grip, it's all as nasty as it is, but it's survivable. For what it's worth, Europe has survived plague, religious wars, smallpox, inquisition, two world wars... I bet it won't get even close to St. Bartholomew's night.

Of course we will.

But I rather like our open, free, secular, scientific and liberal Europe. The periods of plagues, diseases, religious wars, inquisitions and wars were kinda lacking in those areas. I would hate for us to go back to those times.
