From what I could tell from the trailer I saw, the "good guys" were invading a planet and taking land away from space Indians.

Let's see: taking over a planet? That qualifies as Aggressive. Presumably, it's to make room for settlers, and that qualifies as Imperialistic. Aggressive, Imperialistic. Wait a minute: the humans are led by Genghis KHAAAAN!

I might see it. Well, just to see how good the CGI anamation is. Probobly going to be in the top-five for the box office this year
Spoiler :
(along with 2012, Revenge of the Fallen, Dawn of the Dinosaurs (somehow), and the Half Blood Prince).

Well, since there hasnt been a thread on this yet, I thought I would make one. We generally do make threads about big movies coming out and this one could be huge.

Are you planning on seeing it? In regular or 3D?

Opinions on how the movie looks in the trailers?

As the thread progresses and people do see the movie I simply ask that any spoiler information be:

Its been reported that its probably the most expensive movie ever made, clocking in at about 300 million dollars. Did they get their moneys worth?

We will absolutely see it, but I am not going to fight opening day crowds for it. Maybe go on Monday night. My family also wants to see it in 3D, but I have never really enjoyed 3D, and am not sure this new tech Cameron has come up with will improve the experience for me. If anyone has information on this I would appreciate it.

I won't see it in the movies. I also believe that it will take more than one year to recover the costs of production.

What was the overall cost of the movie? 300 million?

You think it will take more than a year to make that?

What are these "furries" of whom you speak? Are their pelts valuable?

I don't watch many movies in theaters and this isn't an exception.

No, but hunting them is beneficial to society, since it keeps the population low.

But what are they?

The same monsters that inflicted Incontinent Student Bodies on an unsuspecting world.

Yep. It is not exactly the talk of the town. I don't hear people screaming to go see it. I think that the first weekend is going to be poor and that from there-on, it will make very little.

Kenneth Turan, movie reviewer of the L.A. Times, was blown away by it. He compared the technological jump forward to the Jazz Singer. He also loved the story. It's the most positive review I've ever seen by him.

So yeah. I'll see it. :scan:

As this film is coming out tomorrow:

Link to video.

Yes, yes, One Day More is a bit too grandeur for just a film: I just wanted to find an excuse to post this song.

I'm gonna see it for the cool futuristic battle scenes. Hopefully the wierd blue people love story doesn't ruin the movie.

Well, just for the record, I think your going to be wrong on your prediction.

So, my brother saw it yesterday - said it was completely amazing. The world was impressively animated, sublime and after few moments you forget it isn't real. He says that the plot isn't all that important, at least it isn't what the movie is about. Critics who are lambasting the movie for a "weak and predictable plot" should just frak off (not exactly his words, but you get the idea).

This film has a definite green and antiwar message. Something someone like you isn't going to appreciate.

And if you do the joke will be on you.
