beta 4 of Civ3Edit patch

I thought the buttons were different, but I deleted the stuff and checked it but again I am stupid and they are the same. But, I am sure that there are no add and remove buttons and I have put the C3editrules.nib thing in resources folder.

make sure you are using the right version of the nibs for the right version of the editor. D&G's new files go into the resources directory (beta 4+ IIRC), the old ones go into English.lproj, a subdirectory.

Question, does this latest version of the editor need the nibs?

Yes. Download the latest .nib file posted by me (not quite sure where it is, exactly. But it's around here somewhere :)).

Thanks for the help with this .nib thing, but I still can't get add/remove buttons anywhere. If they were to be there, they would be in the toolbar where the grid and terrain buttons are , I assume....

Aha. There's your problem. The add/remove buttons are in the rules editor. Go to the scenario menu, and select custom rules. Then, click the "Edit" button on the toolbar. It will take you into the rules editor, where you can add/remove stuff.

I give up. I have spent over 2 hours now trying to find a working version of the civ 3 editor for mac on this forum, or anywhere the internet. In every case, either the editor or the links to get the latest editor don't work. Could someone please e-mail me a *working* link to a *working* version of the civ 3 editor for mac. I am using OS10.1. If possible, I would appreciate if you just send me a working editor direct. My e-mail is redhawk@hvc.rr.com

Thanks

I have spent much time looking in the rules edit stuff and have yet to find any way to add/remove. Should I just give up? I'm really just happy with it how it is.

Well, uhh, if you're happy, and don't need to do any adding/removing, then I guess so. But if you're ever going to need to add/remove units, civs, etc, then keep looking.

Hi everybody . I need some help , I still have some problems with the huts
and I'm not sure where do I have to put the C3editrules.nib file ?
Thanks in advance

you can always download iEditCiv, but make sure you get the latest file, and place it in the "resources" directory of the App (Control click - view package contents).

i've downloaded the from the link posted by D&G, but the scenarios are still coming up invalid when i attempt to load them into the game. hmmm..... yes this makes me feel dumb since the "old" editor worked and this one is giving me fits.

I have also been very frustrated with this. I deleted all the previous downloads and went back through this forum to get the latest (Brad's new Editor + DnG's nib files). I think I followed all the instructions and yet the bl**dy thing still 'unexpectedly quits' every time I try to open it.

I'm running OS 10.2.6 on a graphite iMac.

First off, did you place the editor in the same exact folder as the Civ3 application? By that, I mean is it visibly next to the app? If not, or if it's in a subfolder, it's not going to work.

If you've done that, do you still get the same problem if you don't apply the nib file patches?

Well, they're almost next door, there's something called "civ3id.mb" between them.

I may take out the nib file patches and see what happens.

Brad, continuing on ... new Civ3Edit, sitting near Civ3 app. The Editor still unexpectedly quits on opening. I get the Editor splash screen then the twirling rainbow cursor, then it quits.

Did you by chance install the 1.29 game patch? I'm pretty sure the editor will freak out if it's present.
