IT IS ABOUT BOTH OF THEM!~!!!!!! ITS NOT 100% DYLAN!@ READ! that!!!!!!!!!!

But it's not totally about Dylan, calm down.

YEah but you are all determined!

...Determined to do what?

To make it one! How sad is it when people poop on me for posting about Petty WHEN THEY DO THE SAME THING WITH DYLAN?

There's a difference, people are casually discussing the merits of Dylan, but you have an obsession (I do not mean that negatively) with Tom Petty.

It doesn't make people want to talk about TP, and certainly none of us are as interested in every tiny detail about him. Sorry, but its kind of a turn off.

I also have nothing to say about TP, I don't dislike him though.

I'm sure he's a person, but not many of us know, let alone have heard of him.

close the stupid thread so no one can discuss anything

I wonder why it says Stevie Nicks was nearly deported from Australia after being pulled up on stage ?

Stevie Nicks has quite a whiney voice too . Almost a female Bob Dylan .

No work permit. It was mentioned in another article.

I like Tom Petty's music but I think no one really has that much to say about him. Bob Dylan has legendary status in the music industry and while I think Tom Petty has had some good songs he doesn't have quite the status that Bob Dylan does. Personally I like TP more than BD but that's just my musical taste. I haven't actually listened to many of his songs. He has an awful singing voice but seems to be a very good songwriter.

Still blocked by SME :( I'll go google it up for myself, thanks.

EDIT: Found one that works in Canada :D

Great song, eh? Personally, I think the album version is a bit better, so if you find the opportunity to legally obtain Blood on the Tracks, I'd recommend taking it (although I'd recommend Highway 61 Revisited first).

To discuss the tour specifically - why did Dylan do it? Was his career at a low point so that he was stuck with touring with Petty?

article said:
Dylan said he and Petty decided to tour together because "we just felt like it." Petty said the reason for the collaboration was simply "money."
