Bolt-Action Riflemen of the World

The next rifleman has been posted. I tweaked the animations a little so that the unit isn't standing as straight up as before. He's bent at the knees a little and I think this makes him more compatible with the Firaxis units even though I used the same camera settings as my large unit size on him. Thanks Shiro for a very good idea.

nice animations on your doughboy - but why is his uniform so light?
Is he supposed to be the Pillsbury Doughboy?

So how big is this unit now comparing to the others while he is bending?

Personally I can't tell too much difference between him and Firaxis scale even with grid lines turned on. He's actually the large scale size but with the knee bend he fits in a little better with Firaxis. Give him a try in the game and see what you think. He is the large scale.

@TopGun: He's basically wearing the standard uniform for US forces on the West Coast, Hawaii and Far East for the early part of WWII.

I'm working on a Japanese rifleman now.

Let me know what people think. Probably the hardest thing to match up is color. I'm working off some colors I picked up off a pic of an Osprey cover I found on the web. It's kind of a dark greenish brown. Not sure if I should go with more of a tan or more of a green, though.

The left is the uniform, the right is the legging
1. China
2. Philippians invasion/Island hoping
3. Tropical Uniform

I don't know what time period this unit is, but if you aren't going to make another WWII Japanese unit, can I request tropical uniform, with the neck flap.

Keep the color, but please don't bend his legs like u did on the USA riflemen!

What's wrong with the knee bend? I though it gave him more of a "readiness" look instead of just standing there.

EDIT: @ Shirokobbure: what would be uniform colors for an early and late War IJA soldier? Also looking for colors for SNLF. Would the China uniform be good for early war, the Philippines/Island hoping for late war and the tropical for SNLF? Just a thought.

China is early war, he should probably have the Type 92 helmet, for the 1920s and mid 1930s they should have the French Adrian helmet.
Late War could either be the Tropical or the Island Hopper

I would give a helmet to the Early war units, and the SNLF, the late war can just wear a hat

The SNLF wore either the Tropical or Island Hopper throughout the war, they even wore the old sailor type uniform. So its up to you. I don't know what kind of gun you will give the SNLF but if it is a rifle could you attach the Japanese flag to it?

The 1939 Polish rifleman's helmet looks a bit large for his head - or is it a trick of the eye?

Best,

Oz

I've deliberately exagerated the size of various props associated with the units. For instance, guns, helmets and some pouches have been enlarged so they will show up better at Civ scale (or my version of it).

Can I request a banzai victory for the Japanese infantry?

I'm doing an alternative animation for the IJA dude to be a banzai motion. However, I don't really have any sounds or way to make sounds for him. If someone can make me a banzai shout that is about a second long I would really appreciate it. Thanks. :)
