There's no argument for banning a woman from showing her breasts in public unless you specifically forbid men from doing the same. It can't be done without applying some sort of gender discrimination. Men have mammary tissue and are able to lactate, so trying to include that won't work.

I have no legal problem with topless women, let alone breast feeding women.

I think that some people should not be allowed to perform certain biological functions in public. For instance breathing.

I think it is okay, though if I though if I was a mom I would go to the bathroom.

I would avoid as much as possible taking babies, who don't have a fully-developed immunity, to a place where so many germs are located. That's not to say that if you want to changes his/hers diaper you don't go to the bathroom, but it's a place for them to avoid especially with some of the hygiene levels of some people.

I say they should only boobfeed in public if they intend on sharing with everybody else, as for the bonus question I was under the impression that it was only supposed to be done until they're old enough to eat solids

I think all the women in all these pictures are discreet enough (well, the last picture could be some arrangement/protest, but individually those women are still discreet about the act of breastfeeding), and I have no problem with it.

Of course being discreet should be on the woman's mind, but making sure that her child is fully comfortable and being fed properly should be her #1 objective. She shouldn't have to go TOO MUCH out of her way making sure that nobody sneaks in a peek at her nipple.. That should be the last thing on her mind. If anyone does - oh well.

let's face it 99.99% of women who breastfeed do it in a perfectly discrete manner. Open/pull down top, take breast out, attach baby. The nipple is visible for a few seconds if you really want to see it. After that she doesn't show more than your average cleavage. How on earth should this be a problem?

Christ... the baby won't starve in the 10 minutes it will take the mother to get home or to some location where she can feed it without being seen by whole crowds. Stop being so hysteric.

I would say a baby screeching at the top of its lungs for 10 mins (and trust me, it will if it's hungry and being denied of its food) will be much more annoying than the mother sitting down and feeding the child...
Ironically, the same people who demand no public breast feeding often are the same ones that get annoyed most by crying/screaming children.
