Bug reports and technical issues

My strategy for Tibet is to send the missionaries as far as possible (Europe) first and only convert China and Korea in the final turns before the deadline. Don't forget the Vikings either, since their cities get big. With a continuous stream of missionaries running through Siberia, the UHV isn't that hard on normal speed unless all of Europe goes theocratic.

I stayed at -50 expansion even after researching a tech which should trigger a new check. But even though I was left with only my capitol the expansion modifier was still negative.
In that case I'd like to see the save.

sorry, I only find saves from ~950 AD, this was around 1200, maybe it had something to do with the Mughals&Mongols, I collapsed shortly after that (and I only had my capitol after agreeing to the flip) and in 950 the mechanic still seems to work (gift all my cities away, raze one for first check, research a tech for 2nd check gives 0 on expansion)

I found a bug

I founded Hinduism with China and then built a temple, but I didn't found Buddhism. It is still before the Greek&Indian start but I can't find a date-limit for founding Buddhism.

I founded my capitol on the spot and beelined for Buddhism, so a pretty uneventful game so far. But why don't I get the religion?

edit: continued a little and the game gets interesting.

I switched to India on spawn and gave them hindu-missionaries in each city via the worldbuilder. this caused Delhi to repurpose a pagan temple as hindu temple -> nothing happens.
Then I built a hindu temple in my capitol: voila, buddhism (with the 3rd hindu temple in this world).

so there seems to be a bug limiting buddhism only to india or to only be founded after a certain date, both of which are not currently explained in the game.

edit2: this time I waited untill a few turns after the Indian spawn before completing the temple as China. Still no Buddhism. This is annoying :(

It's not a bug, it's a matter of timing I think.

In one of my China games, Hinduism spread to Fuzhou and I built a Hindu Temple there to offset the unhappiness,
and subsequently I founded Buddhism. That was around T70 or so, but I think it might have something to do with #no. of cities with Hinduism and the date.
This is all on rev599, Monarch, Normal.

great, so it's not a bug just an undocumented, unplanable feature -.-
since India doesn't get Hinduism in it's cities if somebody else founded it and I didn't want to build a 2nd city before founding Buddhism I won't be able to do it at all -.-

edit:
turn 66, no hinduism anywhere in the world except my capitol, but I had a 2nd city (needed, apparently) -> buddhism can be founded.

but since the 3rd Buddhist URV seems basically impossible it's not worth trying any longer anyway. I thought you can't have any furious/annoyed relations with any civ you have contact with, seems wrong. then I tried having it with no civ currently in the game. still doesn't work. So it seems you need to wait untill the last civ starts in the game and then have no annoyed relations (not even with the notoriously angry Arabs or Spanish...). Meh, seems stupid. Or there is another "unwritten" condition somewhere, that the player isn't told about....

According to the code buddhism is founded on hindu temple built. No other conditions. However, I don't know what's happening further.

CTD when Babylon aquired and kept (maybe from greeks).

As already said, there are no further requirements, the first Hindu temple should found Buddhism. It could be that the code that determines the city in which it is founded cannot find one though, in which case the religion will not be founded.

I forgot to exclude civilizations that are not alive, will be fixed.

Civs you don't have contact with count, however, i.e. you automatically fail if you don't have contact with everyone. So you can't win this goal by isolating yourself.

I can't trade Mathematics as China. Persia knows mathematics (since it can see the calendar). I bulbed Mathematics, if that's the problem. SVN version (before the URVs).

is that error message bad? what does it mean?

Hi Leoreth. There is a bug in my game: every time I reconquer Buto game crashes. I think it has something to do with culture, or maybe because Persian catapult there was destroyed. I would really like to know how to fix this or work around it because Im currently writing story about this game.

Heyyy Leoreth, so I might have a legitimate bug here. Or I'm dumb, pick one.

Stability doesn't exist. SVN 599.

I have done many things that would affect my stability (razing cities, obtaining techs, etc.) I have a 0 in every stability category. This isn't just for me. The AI seems to be unaffected as well.

Are you playing as a Buddhist civ by any chance?

No, I meant The Diocletian. I'll look at your save later.

I faced a CTD. There are too few cities in the map.

I often get annoying and recurring error messages that can only be fixed by restarting the game, usually popping up if I toggle a bug setting. Is there a way to disable the error messages?
