Bumble's Great Adventure Take 3

It shouldn't rely on individual people taking the initiative to pass Bumble along. We should have a central Bumble manager (i.e., Birdjaguar) who will have the cell phone numbers of everyone participating. The Bumble manager should call or text Bumble recipients to make sure they have a pulse, are still willing to participate, and know what to do. A similar check should be made when people are sending Bumble onward. If a Bumble host keeps him for more than a few weeks, the manager should nag them every few days.

I think we should pick back up with Owen. If people who have already received Bumble want him again, that should be fine--provided they didn't lollygag too much before. It looks like some people held on to him for months and perhaps they shouldn't be allowed to participate.

Here is the OP from the previous thread.

Will @emzie get the yeti back.
It warms my heart to see this still alive. I have no ambition to organize, but I would love to see Bumble returned home, and see more of his adventures on his trip!

So whoever people decide is going to organise this has to ensure that Bumble is returned to @emzie at the end of the journey.

double post pls delete

IIRC he might be in California.

Still waiting for someone to tell us where our yeti is hiding!

Well, I guess we could.

We could, tho I don't think size is really the limiting factor.

Probably ended up in Wuhan

We could take all the people who actually managed to pass the yeti on successfully last time, and include them in this thing. That way we unfortunately exclude the weak links in the chain and hope for the best again

If folks who are interested in participating in a new effort, post here, i will create a list in the Op and we can build a pathway.

I'm in.

Just keep in mind that there are some countries not allowing mail/parcels from other countries, or if they are, everything is delayed for a considerable time.

Count me out. I'm still annoyed that the camera disappeared, and it really isn't a joke that I risked meeting a cougar in a wildlife sanctuary in order to take the photo.

We need 100% committed people only. But I don't know how to ask people "Are you realllllly sure?" in a way that would really change anything. Or.. Anyone wanting to participate has to click on pictures that do not contain fire hydrants. That way we weed out those who don't really care (and robots)

I think that concerns of pandemic delays are valid ones, but mail seems to be going through just fine when I order stuff on amazon. So would that be a problem?

The most important part of this is selecting people who are dependable. How about you limit it only to those who have seen active duty for their country. That would exclude me, but I could always enlist

Depending on the country and type of package, it could be. UK Etsy sellers won't accept Canadian orders now, and as Zribbler mentioned, he's having problems mailing tax returns from the Philippines to the U.S.

Amazon has a number of Canadian warehouses, so it may be that you're getting your items from one of them rather than from directly across the border.

First things first. Who is interested in being part of the effort? Once we know who, then we can plan a route and all the rest. If you are interested, post and I will compile a list in the OP.

I'm interested. We could probably figure out the order in which to send it once we have a full list of people. If somebody is in a country that doesn't accept packages from Canada, then they could get the package from somebody elsewhere maybe, etc. ANd as the pandemic changes over time or whatever, it will also change all these rules anyway
