Bush Attacks Democrats

I'll take that bet. It's not gonna make the charges against him go away, nor make it last less long. The longer this drags out the lower the polls will go. He might make the democrats look worse, but that's different.
I hope you noticed I didn't bet they would rise, I said "if anything, I bet they will climb after this, not fall." So all they have to do is stay fairly level or climb, and I win. ;)

Cash money or uranium?

He does have the right to criticise his critics, but come out with rubbish like "they're undermining the war effort" is plain ridiculous. He's basically calling them traitors. He still has the right to say it, but I have the right to tell him that's tactless.
Agreed.:goodjob:

Not if it falls... which is a possibility.

The point: If you expect politicians to be corrupt, you will be less disappointed. It is the same stuff over and over again.

"All politicians are liars therefore it's OK for Bush to lie America into a war costing 200+billion dollars and 2000+ American lives."

 Wow, if this is the Empire Striking Back, Karl Rove is no Palpatine. The "defense" of this war is becoming more pathetic by the second.

Did I say it was okay? No.

Bush is costing us alot. It seems he cannot manage to make a cheese sandwhich.

An electoral system with more than two major parties would carry considerable benefits in an instance like this. If you refuse to vote for one party however find major fault with the other and proceed to vote for a minor party then your vote is largely wasted (not entirely though).

Exactly! At least someone gets it.

Not that I agree that the war should be alright but we should atleast expect this from Politicans, its not like its anything new. Politicans are liars get used to it, NO one can do anything about it.

Dont ask for that its not hard to prove for Democrats or Republicans

You've got to be kidding me.

How about costly social programs over the years, letting people like Corzine and Kerry run for office, and not trying to get Iraq stable. They too voted to engage, and yet they refuse to try to get the job done. They would rather sit around complaining. As a matter of fact, they rarely offer any solutions to any current issue. It's all just blame the Republicans. If you don't see the Democrats as irresponsible, then you have a serious bias in favor of them.

If your response to the Iraq Debacle is "I don't care when I and my representatives in government are lied to" you have passed Partisanship and gone straight on into Hopeless Self-Delusion.

Maybe that's a "one liner" but it's also darn true. The carefree attitude towards the Iraq lies - essentially "All politicians lie whattayagonna do 'bout it?" would be hilarious if it weren't so depressing that so many of you like being screwed over.

Exactly, attacking on passifists by calling them unpatriotic is one of the definations of fascism.

It seems perfectly natural for Bush to do this. I don't see why it is so terrible to defend himself. Many in the Democratic Party have ranted continously for years. So now that he critizizes others he is doing something terribly wrong.

Basically the minority party's job is to complain. It's quite rare to see a minority party in any branch really offer new ideas. Mostly they just wait for the other side to screw up royally and then pounce. It was no different a decade ago than it is now.

Besides, the Democrats at the federal level can't do much else anyway. They're out of power everywhere, remember? If they just sat back, that wouldn't be very useful, would it?

Well not necessarily. George Orwell wrote that in some cases "pacifism is objectively pro-Fascist." He goes on to explain that if you hurt one side, the other side benefits with Mr Orwell even using the terminology "he that is not with me is against me." Try reading his Pacifism and the War Effort. It's rather interesting and almost eerily similar to what's going on with the "War on Terror" today

Given the lack of accuracy on his prediction of life in the year 1984, I'll reserve judgement thank you very much.

It doesn't make it right to just complain. You don't have to be in power to have an idea.

It doesn't matter how much power they have. They have to stop reacting and start setting their own agenda.
