C2C Balance Thread

Just discovered this mod, pretty fun mod.

Only question is, is it normal to be producing +7k/turn by the Medieval/Renaissance age? There's something wrong when I can rush-build buildings in two cities a turn and still net a profit.

What difficulty level? REV on or off?

Just checked, REV off. Eternity game speed. Difficulty, somewhere easy-ish. Probably Warlord or Prince. (but normally I don't get so much money in Vanilla BTS lol) Although, notably I have terrible micromanagement skills (and there's no worker automation) so my land isn't completely developed.

Tech lead + lots of money allows me to buy all the wonders as I unlock them, increasing this money lead. (Earlier, when I didn't get so much money, I rushed wonders with Treasure, as I had two city ruins in my borders.) I get so many Great Merchants that it's not even funny; I just get a few more techs with them. (Actually at this point I'm basically using all of my GP for more techs, save scientists for academies, doctors for health spas, and prophets for shrines).
I don't maintain much of an army except for this outpost in another continent (where I have ~200 rifles), because my main continent is just my vassal and myself.

Running on 100% tech by the way, with about ~10 cities running Research (none on Wealth). Funnily enough, mostly didn't build Gambling/Assassin/Pirate stuff after I saw the crime boost those give.

Also, it's now Industrial at 411 BC. Hmmm. Timeline might be off, but that's not a balance issue.

There is most definately a worker automation phenomist, you can even exclude improvements you don't want, prechop forests etc. Or did you mean you didn't use automation.. nevermind

Try harder difficulty setting, or use the flexible difficulty option if unsure of the ost appropriate. We normally recommend playing C2C at lest 2 settings higher than you would play vanilla, and in V24 particularly gold abundance is greatly increased at lower difficulties

I press the automate button, the workers don't move? Very weird. Eh.

@Koshling: Ok, thanks. Although maybe relabeling the difficulties would've worked a bit better :P

They should do so at the end of the turn after everything has been either moved or automated. We could change this behaviour to force NEWLY automated (ONLY) units to perform their automation at once, so that the UI provides feedback for nwe C2C users - I don't think that would be hard to do.

In my current game I with an army of 15 units destroyed mongols, that had 200+ units in cities. For some reason AI doesn't know how to concentrate armies, do counterattacks and defend themselves. Mongols were just holding armies in cities, while I was defeating them one-by-one, restocking lost stacks and attacking again.
Deity, Eternity, Giant, No generals.

yes the distribution of ai's units is a big problem and koshling is already aware of it. Its not the easiest thing to fix but im pretty sure he has some ideas that he plans on implementing. He can only do one thing at a time and he's a busy man. I personally hate how ai keeps a ******** amount of units in there capital city which is usually in the centre of there empire. Also they don't use siege weapons properly.

A thought I had the other day regarding siege weapons and AI was to put opportunity fire (bug menu) on by default and teach the AI to sentry siege weapons - especially against enemy stacks where possible. This means if enemy is adjacent to siege while they are sentry, they take damage.

Some update on cash. I don't get as much of gold as I used in v23, but right now I'm getting +1.2k in medieval age. I'm a tech leader but I'm not expanding so I'm currently third in a score rating.

What difficulty, gamespeed, civics, and version (v24 or SVN)?

v24
eternity, deity
republic, patrician, bourgeois, coinage, state church.

Are you using any settled slaves from previous use of slavery with your current patrician? If so that's already been nerfed in the SVN.

It happened with me when I conquered the city with Mongolian culture. I had a event that said wonder conquered but it wasn't there and I could build cultural units.

@zienul,
Since you are using the Official v24 release (with the 2 patches I hope), then you don't have the new tech tree and religion founding techs in your game? I'm trying to gather some info is why I ask.
