C2C Balance Thread

Nope use whomever you like. I use America, Native American, Israel, Dutch quite often. And sometimes I'll put 3 or 4 of the Empresses in the game and then let the rest be random. (I wish the Original Dido was still being used, the new Theodora is easy on the eyes ;) )

Consider not using DP, Limited Religions, or Choose Religions for this either. But Multiple Production and Multiple research as well as Usable Mountains is okay. In Bug check the Multiple Religion, Do not use Sea tunnels or Terrain Damage. Storms that's up to you.

And I never any more use Mastery Victory. I'll switch around between using 3 or 4 of the other conditions. Of course long term Spaceship is no longer really viable and Religious is borked too.

With only 7 AI no need for vassals either. Barb World is good for placing some barb cities on the map.

Well as late it is when I saw your post this is probably all irrelevant anyway.

Sort of. I have balanced it so that it should be OK for playing, but it is darn fast. As for getting rid of Quick and Blitz, that's a good idea, I'll do that soon.

Just a matter of perception and playstyle. Pace is good on Normal, no long drawn out click click click EoT times cause you got nothing to do but watch the saw grass grow.

By the way Saw grass, when is it Ever going to do something, produce something. It's really silly, imho, to farm it and have the game tell me I'm not going to get any hammers for chopping it. :P :rolleyes: It should at least have a chance at producing wheat or barley or something like that. Hay maybe?.

It does give +10% defense. ;) But I don't know what else it's supposed to do.

It was only supposed to occur on swamp terrains and I was going to do a lot with the various ones. Peat mine gives peat, Tall Grass gives thatch etc, but like many other things priorities changed.

On another note, on snail (my preferred speed for most mods), I am finding myself with too much by the time I get to Gunpowder. Mostly to many units, religions and friendly neighbours.

On Amphibian Myth why not obsolete at the Tech that gives Amphibian Pond. Still an early Preh tech, iirc. But at least you don't have to hold a dart frog forever to get more than 1 hammer from it.

And it seems dart frogs are not used for poison making anymore either?

I'll have it upgrade then. That way it does not go obsolete at all.

I really wish someone would go through ALL the religious buildings with a nerf hammer and squash them down to size. These bonuses are just crazy big. Also there should be a big penalty for switching state religions - so to avoid people switching in order to unlock more buildings.

At least give the buildings some penalties or something..

Wow I had no clue about the bonuses with that religion!! :eek: I usually either shoot straight for Shamanism or Judaism mostly Judaism, seems good compared to ones I tried. :crazyeye:

All religions have things that make them equal but different. Some people like Yoruba others Buddhism. Each is over powered in its own way.
 
Hit Shinto along the way to Judaism. I bypass the 1st 2 (Druid and Shaman) to get Tengrii and then make sure I get a Horse resource or subdue one.

I leave Tengrii as main religion until late Classical Then I switch to Judaism. Of course I play with Multiple Religions On in the BUG Option. And I do not use DP but once in a while for a change of pace. I never use Limited or Religious Decay anymore. They imho, destroy a Fun part of the Mod.

But as you can see some ppl don't like them. :p

And that's what makes them soo good>. Seriously If the religions ever get "borked" like some ppl want I'd have to quit playing C2C. They Make the Mod for me. And if I have not said it before i'll say it now, Thank You DH for this Very Important part of the Mod. And I really like your Subdued Animals too (wish I could get them into KROME).

I never usually use advanced espionage because I think its totally unbalanced, here's an example. Over $29,558 for 2660 espionage points.

Also note that to Bribe the city would only cost 1350 points.. advanced espionage is obviously broken imo, don't know how people play with it.

Espionage costs need to be completely rebalanced. As far as I can tell, they haven't been changed from the RoM:AND values.
 
It certainly looks to me like C2C. :confused: And he has a point, I don't understand how the large city is giving -86% spy cost!
I assume that was never balanced for the size of cities that you can get in C2C.

So far the timeline of Normal is pretty good. I got Judaism at 2810BC which put me Classical Era. Sed Life was at 8100BC for the start of Ancient.
