La Tierra de los Homoides by Eduardo Mayorga
In a future world where the pollution of oil and coal is a thing of the past thanks to the development of new forms of energy (atomic, hydroelectric, solar...) a mysterious scientist called Dimitrov creates something he calls an homoid, a humanoid artificial being that is capable of surviving on its own. This development changes the world, and soon homoids become almost ubitiquous in the world, used as tools and, in some places, treated as slaves. However, when the first homoids that look exactly like humans are revealed, a paranoia starts to settle over humanity, especially as the human-like homoids become more sophisticated, because, how do we know who is a real human and who is actually an homoid? And how can we be sure that the homoids are really our servants, and not planning to uprise against us as they become more essential to our society? These questions are in the air when Ricardo Reyes, a private investigator, is asked by a beautiful woman called Marta to find her brother, who was trying to discover the truth behind Dimitrov's experiments. Armed only with his intelligence, his wits, his old energy guns and the help of both Marta and homoid Mikel (M1K3L), Ricardo will have to travel to the depths of what seems to be a conspiracy that could put the entire world, and perhaps all of humanity, in danger.
