It is our opinion as an observer nation to the league, that the league should focus more on functioning as an effective organization and less on superprojects to construct state-of-the-art headquarters. It seems, to us, to be a misappropriation of resources.
Though our vote counts for nothing, Vinland believes that the Workers Commonwealth of Scandinavia should be afforded the seat once held by the Empire of Scandinavia. Though it is disheartening for us to say this, it has become clear that the Kongo Society and its hosted government in exile is not willing to make the compromises necessary to once again become relevant to European politics.

Well, it was sort of hard coming up with a name, and someone suggested Frisia and M.t.cicero and I both thought that was fine.
Plus naming it something with The Netherlands in it seemed unfair to Flanders. If you've got a better name go right ahead and suggest one 
Edit - if it's that bad, I might just change it back to what we had originally decided, United Republic of the Netherlands, or The Federal Republic of The Netherlands.

However, we must appeal to you that the Workers Commonwealth be granted reentry to the League of Continental Nations. A name with 'Netherlands' in it probably makes the most sense, as it refers to the geographic area of the low countries. That's just my opinion. There's some useful history in here, and the term 'Netherlands' has been applied to all of the low countries at several points in the past.

OOC: I think Erick Acero would've likely been overthrown if he'd done that, Deng Xiaoping came right after the excesses of the Cultural Revolution, for the fifth government in five years, but we'll never know now. Regardless, whether things go badly or well it's the characters of my nation that should feel (as a player I believe I should be more removed and just enjoy the game either way).
IC: As much as your despotic regime honors us as it's main enemy, we must insist that Chile get some of the glory too. While it is our forces that act as the hammer, they are the anvil and the applaudable originator of this intervention. However do not misunderstand us, we do not seek to move the attention of your forces from here to there, we merely wish to allow Colombia the equal portion of glory that they deserve for fighting one the most depraved regimes on the planet, known to engage in the ritual burnings of live prisoners of war.
