Capto Iugulum

The United Russian Empire is present!

The Empire of Scandinavia is present.

The Empire of Japan strives for the Honor of the Emperor!

Persia present. though I am curious why I have the british army doctrine instead of the spanish one. meh, dosn't matter really. I'll just aim for theriers when it comes time to upgrade.

Suggestions:
- Portugal: this is a nation with some potential, even after they got mauled by Spain in the American Presidency War and I need a player I can manipulate in order to annex Portugal and it can use its hatred of Spain to find allies.
- Hungary: they are quite powerful economically, although they have been losing relevance in the last few years. (TAKEN)
- Mayan Republic: their main role is to serve as a buffer between Spain and New Spain, as well as providing a grand vantage point for trading ships in the Caribbean.
- Peru: a nation that broke away from Spain, it still has strong ties and an amicable relation with Spain (its king is a relative of the Spanish Emperor), and serves as part of the anti-Argentine-Brazilian Axis.
EDIT to add EQ's other suggestions
- Argentina: the second nation in the Argentine-Brazilian Axis, they are nonetheless a powerful nation on its own right, and guaranteers of democracy in South America.
- Venezuela: together with Peru, they are opposed to Argentina and Brazil, and also have powerful economic ties to Spain.
- Papal States: a nation that many think is always near collapse, and yet are able to remain afloat. They could become something big if they want to.
- Denmark: a small northern nation, it has great ties to nearby Scandinavia, Netherlands and the Franco-Burgundian Confederacy, and they have a great chance of being powerful if they play their cards well.

Austria is here.

TO: Scandinavian Empire and the Dutch Republic
FROM: Empire of Brazil

The time has long passed where the lands of Guyana have proved fruitful for your empires. The Empire of Brazil, as protector of freedom and democracy in the Americas, requests talks on the acquisition of Scandinavian Guyana and Dutch Guyana. Scandinavian Guyana contains a single manpower and produces a measly 2 EP a year. It is a drain on the Scandinavian economy with minimal benefits to the empire. The continued presence in South America is more a jeopardy to peace than a useful colony. It is thus that we offer Sweden 10 EP, the entire income of the colony over a five year period, for the cession of the lands to the Brazilian nation. To the Dutch we offer 25 EP to cover the same period of income. Failing to work with Brazil on this matter will only lead to a degradation of diplomacy and harming of international relations.

@Nuke and SouthernKing: Welcome aboard.

@Terrence888: Milarqui's recommendations are still pretty valid, but I'd add to that list Argentina, Venezuela, the Papal States, and Denmark.

We urge you to accept the Brazilians' offer, simply in the interest of security in the Western Hemisphere.

Pleased to see the Papal States on this list. :D

Genoa is MINE!

from Genoa:
to our allies in France-Burgundy and Austria:
Even while our state goes through some instability and requests from the people for socialism and nationalism, I am in great hopes my powerful allies will continue to remain so and aid me in keeping Genoa protected and free.

To: The World
From: United States of America

The United States of America is preparing to build the Panama Canal. The sheer scale of this project implores us to seek foreign support. Therefore, we present this offer: any support for the project will be met with fare for use of the canal reduced to cost of maintenance (no profit is made from usage). Sovereign nations providing funds at minimum of [100 EP] for this project will be granted access through the canal at fares reduced to cost of maintenance. This contract will be revokable only on war or the United States compensating said nation for their investment in the canal with [110 EP] for every [100 EP] invested. We currently are looking for two-to-four nations to take us up on this offer, so move quickly before the offer is gone.

I have made some small corrections to stats, and have updated the starting map to a proper border between Vinland and the United States, per popular request.

Spain is willing to collaborate in the construction of the Panama Canal.

Excellent. We are pleased to have you on board with this project. We'll mark you down as a supporter, and will expect [100 EP], the sooner the better.
