What is your opinion of the nudity on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel?

There's a difference between nudity from art and nudity for sexual pleasures and desires.

Adam and Eve were nude before they ate the fruit from the tree that God told them not to eat from.

And what is that difference?

And there were nude afterwards too. Every time they took a shower. :crazyeye:

Anyway, how'd the human race ever survive accordng to the Bib? Didn't they have all sons?

And who is to decide which is which (I assume we are talking about films here, and some people consider what hollywood produces to be art)?

Mmm... I dislike how you people, and many others, downplay Sex. It should be intimate, and not be shared with anyone outside your spouse. There are so many problems with an allowance of this sort of stupidity that it should be outlawed. Make it illegal and then prosecute anyone who makes themselves open to the rest of humanity.

I do not care about violence though, for I have a violent mind. Thus I think up violent means of dealing with nudity. Although children should be ushered away from violence also.

Cut off any part of the body showing that you deem inappropriate?

Thank God for seperation of church and state!

Off the offenders... That may be a good idea for multiple-times offenders. This might be a religeous thing, but I do not expect God to back my descisions.

People should have a choice who they want to have sex with. As long as the people consent, I don't see why the government should be able to stop them. This is different from violence, where in most cases it is some one hurting or killing someone else, and in most cases that is without consent (obviously). Sex is merely an act of love between two people, violence is hurting or even taking a life away from someone, which, again, in most cases people probably don't want their life taken away.

Then... ummmm... it isn't really a religious thing, is it?

No  You do not understand.

I disagree with nudity because my Christian morals about the subject, but I will deal with it in a non-Christian way.

I know that it is a bizarre idea, but then again, I AM a bizarre man!

Can you elaborate?

Are you saying that to look at a naked body is sinful?
Yes, Christians must shower with their eyes closed. You didn't know? It's all in the Bible. ;)

The best way people can not be exposed to moral depravity?

TURN IT OFF. If you find it so offensive, just don't watch it. No need to impose your personal agenda on the masses.

But what if a majority of the masses support such imposing?

They ought not to interfere with the rights of the minority. If it's so immoral, they can just change the channel, or subject, etc.

It's called social norms, community standards, and so forth. It's based on the majority opinion.

That is all well and good, as long as it is within reasonable standards. If they ban streaking in public, fine, that's necessary for order, but banning nudity in people's homes? That's just plain fascist.;)

I take the Frank Zappa view.

We have a right to procure all the smut, depravity, filth that we want. This is America ain't it? If you don't like it, don't partake. You won't be forced to watch filth, so don't pretend that you are.

There are literally hundreds of other television outlets availible on cable and satellite where you can find all of the sex and violence one could ever imagine.

Now is it really that much to ask to leave three or four terrestrial TV stations without that, or to at least reserve a block of time for decent programming?

That's the reason I turned my TV off for three years. Just watch News and Documentary, buy DVDs for movies and that's all.
