Commissar Severus Hark stands up and begins to speak.
"It appears that I, just as you all, have been catapulted here to do battle with the foul gods of Chaos that I know from my own universe. You may name these forces the 'Acebees', but we fight against the Four Chaos Gods. Khorne, Tzeenetch, Slaanesh and Nurgle. I died against a greater Daemon of Khorne in my own timeline.

No matter. I am skilled in the arts of fighting the daemonic, having been trained in this way by the Imperium to do battle against the forces of Chaos from within. I have a grasp of command and battle.

Thus, I nominate myself as Captain of this ship! I do not know who you are, or many of the words you use," He points to Nicholas Strongonovitch "for example, I know not this 'Vodka' you speak of - but I shall endeavour to lead this ship against the daemonic forces of the Acebees.'

"Now, to find my gun... and my blade."

"Interesting."

Arco studied the rest of the crew. A psychotic, a Russian alcoholic, some guy who thinks he's a riddle master of some sort, a man who has obviously mistaken some form of technology for magic, a couple of overly aggressive meatheads, and, to top it all off, a samurai wannabe. The rest were surely just as bad. Maybe there is a God, and this is purgatory. It surely wasn't heaven, but the fact that he could now explore all of the alternative timelines showed a tiny bit of mercy.

"I suppose our first order of business is to take care of the ship's basic responsibilities. I expect Captain Byrne will be our primary pilot, and I'm by far the most competent person here to be the engineer. I'm not sure how comfortable I am with this... fanatic as captain. Are there any other volunteers?"

Nice update! For the record, my original idea for the "slimies" was that they were a biological experiment gone horribly wrong. I didn't specify as I didn't think it would be relevant. Aliens work just as well, though.
 
Jade sat quietly for a moment taking everything in. She came out of her thoughts wanting a lot of things. She wanted to know what the hell had happened back in her...timeline, was what he called it. She wanted to know who the rest of these characters were. She wanted to see the ship's controls for herself before she piloted it.

Most of all, though, she wanted a stiff drink.

"Yeah, I think I can pilot this thing," Jade said in response to Arco. "I think I'm going to need a tall one to take all of this in first, but I can do that. Our new...captain certainly seems to have had a few."

Action: Jade nominates herself as pilot.
Action: Jade gets a drink.
Action: Jade examines the controls to acquaint herself with the way the ship works.
Action: Watch Marcus Blackstone work out. ;)
 
Silently watching everything, John/Takashi briefly says:
"I cannot judge who might be best suited as captain, but I certainly would rather not see Severus-san in that place. I support that the pilot becomes our pilot.

Action: Check the armoury for his daisho (katana+wazikashi, but since we had to have 2 weapons, the katana and the sheath of the wazikashi).
Action: Check the rooms and pick the best bed. :p
Action: Inspect the rest of the ship.
Action: Jade 4 Pilot.

"Now why would we even need to select a captain?" Jack said, smiling as he shuffled a deck of cards. The kitten poked its head out of one of Jack's large pockets.

"It seems like a real bother, being told what to do all the time by someone we just met. We shouldn't need to elect a captain. Besides, us gentlemen with finer taste like Strongnovitch here have our work cut out for us improving the ship already, we sure as heck don't need someone to command us. Oi!"

He tapped on Strongnovitch's shoulders. "Let's go down to the storage area, I want to see what kind of liquid treasure they have there."

OOC: Jack's magic isn't telepathy as much as... Traditional magic I guess. He can summon a mist, some minor horrors that can be taken down with a small club, and make doors very hard to break and that's about it.
 
"Who needs strength when you can do this?" says Alex as he levitates himself a few inches off the ground and surrounds himself with a glow. "I could do a lot better, but I'd need my staff, which is probably in the armory. Anyway, I support that Jade should be our pilot. Strongnovitch should be our captain, as he is a good Communist. As for second-in-command, I'll vote myself. You never know when you need a wizard!"

Action: Alexander Withington proves that magic exists.
Action: Alexander Withington goes to the armory to get his knife, staff, and ring of protection.
Action: Alexander Withington votes Jade for pilot, Shtrongnovitch for captain, and himself for second in command.

Action: Nomimate myslef as Captain.

"Terribly sorry my dear Commissar but you are a tad too zealot for my taste. Zealotry gets you killed, and seeing that you're hear I rest my case, and when you're in command it gets your men killed. I'd really rather we not have someone in command whose first instinct to new things is to shoot it. However that same flaw probably makes you ideal for being in charge of security. I vote for our alcoholic friend here Strongnovitch because we really don't have any other choices do we? Now if you excuse me I need to find my weapons and shield, I feel naked without them."

"Wonderful. Our three choices for the one that prevents us from dying from disorganization seem to be a drunk, a fanatic, and the one that never talks. I suppose I'll throw in my vote for Strongnovitch. I'm off to see how this ship works; don't bother me unless someone new runs for election."

"Glorious comrades!" said Nicholas "I will gladly take a postition as Captain, I have commanded many battles in my time line. I assure Alex that I am not a capitalist pig, but then anyone would know that from looking at me.

I say we should have me as the Captain, Severus as Security Officer and Second in Command, Jade as our Pilot and Arco as our Engineer! I will lead this ship in glorious battle against the forces of evil, whether that evil comes in the form of Captialist Pigs, Chaos Demons or the Acky-Bees. I do wonder why our comrades haven't just used bug spray against these evil bees, but that is beside the point.

Excuse me comrades, I am going to go off with Comrade Jack here to find my Vodka. If something important happens, please find and tell me. I bid you all good day, fellow workers!"

Action: Vote: Me as the Captain, Severus as Security Officer and Second in Command, Jade as our Pilot and Arco as our Engineer.

"Hmm," Severus says, shrugging, "It appears you do not desire my wisdom in your captain. Very well, that is your loss. I do, however, accept your nomination as chief of security, even if I do lack the physical aptitude that many aboard this ship posses."

It took a while for the Hermit to speak. "Elections, hm?", he mused. "Well, it's a matter of who is the best fit for the job as I see it. Not at all like in my own country. There, it came down to who had the most money. Not so much here, I think.

Might I suggest, then, that Jade here is by far the most suitable choice for pilot. I would suggest, also, that while the Commissar would in some cases be the obvious choice for Captain, it is not wise to have a captain who has too much hate and passion in them. Nor would the eminent Sergeant, Marcus here, make a captain; I know a pessimist when I see one, and there's a prime example. However, I am happy to see him as second in command.

I see no issues with electing Major Strongnovitch as captain. I believe he will be a strong and charismatic leader.

The position of Security Officer should, I believe, fall to someone both trustworthy and perceptive. One person in particular stands out for that role, in my opinion, and that is Mr. Arco Nerras, and I am seldom wrong about people.

I move that I am put in charge of any medical supplies and am made ship's doctor, in the event that we need one. I carry my own", he said, pointing to the small pack on the ground at his feet, "and will be intrigued to see what is on board this ship in the way of such things.

I intend to have a look at the empty rooms and see what may be done with them in the future. Perhaps I will see how much bigger we need the ship to be, and perchance I might happen on some medical supplies. Would anybody like to come with me?"
 
"Nyet, comrade Strongnovitch," Jack said. "We must go find all the alcohol in this godforsaken ship... And then we must build a bar! Preferably in this meeting room. Can you see the GENIUS of it? We can now drink WHILE getting debriefed as opposed to after it! That's like 15 minutes faster!"
 
Very well! It's nice to see everyone has posted their orders (although I'd rather that all your orders were on the same message, MoreEpicThanYou), so hopefully I should have the update this afternoon/night. You still have time to edit your orders in order to vote for whomever you want as the Captain, though.

Also, as for the references, Grandkhan gets one! Say where you want those extra EXP points! And, sorry, Gem Hound, the Daleks/Time Lords conflict and the bigger on the inside comment do not count. JoanK is the one nearest to the second reference, though...
