CFC dungeons and dragons RPG

OK ... so we could get some things started before I figure out the story and all the trinkets.

Im going to ask you all to start choosing a character.

The stats will be appointed by me using the in-game character generator of baldur's gate.

Start by choosing a class and a race and alignement.
(For alignement remember that you are all going to be in the same party, so you need to follow your alignement, in other words if you choose evil you must act evil.)
Build a little background story (where you are from, deity and your past experiences).
Remember that you all come from the region near Baldur's gate. (Map posted in next post)

carte-rien2.jpg

Name: Heretic Cata (what else :D ... if i'll come up with smthing different i'll let you know)
Race: Elf
Class: Cleric
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

Biography: under construction

(i'm basicaly reserving a spot :D)

But i think i should wait for the translation of the locations on the map before i'll get a biography.

Also, because i know nothing about the locations on the map (i played Baldur's Gate 2) is it possible to completley make up a smallish location ? (a small hidden monastery or smthing like that for example)

Alsso, i'm a cleric, so i guess i need a deity right ? Does it have to be from the game ? (if so then i'd like a list please)
If not then i'll come up with something ...

Alssso, is there any restrictions like: only 1 cleric per party, 1 fighter, 1 paladin ... and so on... (if yes, then that's the reason why i'm reserving a spot :D)

Yes you can make a small location on the map and I will integrate it. But small :D

Yes you need to choose a Deity, not nessarely from the game but it must follow your alignement

On restrictions, Its always better to have a equilibrated party. Cuz if no one makes up a thief then you wont be able to go very far in the game.

Usually my parties go as following:

2 fighters (paladin rangers fighter)
1 or 2 cleric
1 or 2 mage
1 thief

That is just a suggestion. :)

EDIT : Im also editing the first post with your class choosing!

Another question ... (i ask to many questions i know  i'll probably stop at some point ...)

You saw in Baldur's Gate 2 that there are some Sub-Classes from which one could choose from. I am not asking for you to post AAAALLLL of them (if the people don't necesarely want to).
For a cleric it's quite easy : the Cleric had 3 sub-classes.
Cleric of Lathander
Cleric of Helm
Cleric of Talos

And i can post the advantages and disadvantages of all sub-classes from DLH if anyone wants to. But it might complicate your game a bit : Some sub-classes like the cleric subclasses only have simple aditional abilities ... but some like the Kensai sub-class seems to be somewhat pretentious (or at least to mathematic for my taste :D):
Spoiler :

Advantages:
- +1 to hit and +1 damage for every three levels.
- -2 bonus to AC.
- -1 bonus to speed factor for every 4 levels.
- May use Kai ability one time per day for every 4 levels (starts at 1st
level with one use). This ability lasts 10 seconds and makes all the
attacks do maximum damage.

Disadvantages:
- May not use missile weapons.
- May not wear armor.
- May not wear gauntlets or bracers.

And the Wizardslayer ...
Spoiler :

Advantages:
- For each successful hit on an opponent, 10% cumulative spell failure
penalty is applied.
- 2% magic resistance per level.

ToB:

- At 20th level, gets 5% magic res. every 2 levels

Disadvantages:
- May not use any magic items except for weapons and armor.

I guess it's your choice in the end, we wouldn't want you working to hard for this afterall. :(

See I did not want to post the sub-classes because of 2 reasons :

1- too much work :)

2- the sub classes really applied to BG2's scenario more than anything, and Im starting a whole other story :)

and for the cleric sub classes are really more for alignment purposes.

So no I would prefer no sub-classes. Its also easier for people without much knowledge.

Name: Kan’ Sharuminar
Race: Half-Elf
Class: Ranger
Alignment: Chaotic Good

Weaponry: Primary: Longbow Secondary: Bastard Sword.
Light Armour.

Biography: A ranger with the uncanny ability to be found in almost any tavern on the Sword Coast when needed, Kan Sharuminar is a dependable, but normally intoxicated fighter. Strangely, while this affects his decision making and judgement (normally rather odd anyway) he remains an excellent archer, and a competent swordsman in close quarters.

His adventuring career is fairly standard, preferring to aid others or work alone rather than lead others. It is rumoured he was involved somehow in the ‘Mole Incident’ seven years previously. He refuses to speak about the event, though. In addition, his reasons for joining this quest are also unclear, though he claims that “he was in need of a good adventure, particularly if it doesn’t involve those damned spiders.”

His constant source of ales - which he is always generous with - make him a popular companion, as well as his ability to turn up at just the right time with a well placed arrow shot. His tendency to wander - usually into danger - is a trait that requires a little more patience though…

As much I like your art, I'm going to have to give you a choice. :scan:

Either I use the art in the game or you draw each party member. :p

If you choose to draw, I suggest you wait to see the stats you guys are going to get.
e.g.: If you score a 18/98 constitution your character is going to look a little bit more .... huh ...... huh ....... big. :D
-----------------------------------

New map posted and Im updating post #1

I would like you guys to remember that this is the first time for me to host such a game, so bare with me. :)

This is a loosely tied game. So if anyone interested to help me host this, don't be afraid even if you don't know much.

During the game I will, sometimes, PM someone with something the other party members won't know. A quest, a hint or a wrench, simply to make it more interesting.
So check your PM's from time to time when the game starts.

I also found out who my vilain will be.

Vladek Maus will be your ultimate goal/enemy
He's a mage, kinda aggresive, deceiving and powerful.

:run: :run: :run: :run: :run: :run:

Ach, sadly I don't have the time to do the pictures, I'm afraid. I'll see what you come up with.

Good work on new map, I'll get to work on a biography soon. Should we post what sort of weapons our characters use?

Ill take screenshots of your characters in-game ... nothing much really.

Ill post my sources in the first post.

You can all go and take a look there to see the spells, armor, weapons ect...

I would only ask you guys not to go see the Maps, subquests and walkthrough sections, because I will use some of these here and there.

Oh, oh, I'll take the other fighter spot with a dwarf barbarian. I'll just use Oskar from last time and make a few changes based on the new setting. I'm about to go to work, but I'll update this post later with the relevant info . . .

I editted in my biography and preferred weapons. It's mostly based on my Neverwinter Nights MP campaign that I'm playing right now, and I hope it's along the lines of what you were looking for. :)

If I may ask, because I can't find the info online - what year is this set in?

Name: Sigur Sigurson
Race: Human
Class: Mage
Alignment: Neutral Good
Deity:Tymora
Biography:
Please excuse the rambling. It is not without reason, that i didn't study Literature. ;)
Spoiler :
Sigur was born in Nashkel, as the seventh son of a wealthy farmer. His childhood centered around farmlife and shall be skipped, lest the biographer's dire lack of knowledge on this subject becomes apparent. It soon became obvious, that Sigur was bestowed with extraordinary talents. Nobody could explain how he managed to help himself to cookies, even though the jar was kept well out of his reach. When there was spinach for dinner, it proved impossible to put it onto his plate. Some invisible and inpenetratable force seemed to shield his plate.
Eventually his family grew tired of these antics and took him to town, in order to seek advice in the local temple of Helm. The priest explained the concerned parents that Sigur has the gift of the second sight. Upon further inquiry, he assured them that it was indeed a gift and not stolen. The parents suggested herbal tea as a way of getting rid of it, but the priest was unconviced about the odds of it succeeding. Instead, he suggested to sell the child to old Firebead Elvenhair in Beregost, who would introduce the child to the art of magic. Said and done. Sigur was traded for a cow and spend his youth with revision and doing chores for the old wizard.
Nothing pleased the apprentice more than throwing increasingly powerful spells at hapless wildlife. Once he could kill a wolf with a volley of magic missles, he left his mentor. Fled, rather, since Firebeard had not yet discharged Sigur from his services. During the following years, he earned his living by hunting beasts and selling their unspoiled hides.
Until...
