CFC Handwriting Thread (from Random Rants ΠΑ)

Some of them are, certainly, but showing off that I know how to spell French locations wasn't why I did it. :p

I used to write reams by hand (took notes by hand in court for 8 years) and had to do so quite fast and accurately, but years of using computers mean my hands now ache if I write more than a page or 2 of A4.
Handwriting is still quite neat though and I tend to keep handwritten notes for whatever game I'm playing. I'll try and scan something and upload it tomorrow.

Well there are a lot of Civ related choices there. Planned order of conquest if you are up against Nappy or one of his kin. City names you want to use if you are playing as France yourself...

It's actually seven historical locations I want to go to see in France. Sadly, they're all over France and would likely take significantly more than one trip.

Wait, what? Referencing a REAL LIFE activity? Do you not know where you are posting?

Oh well, since you insisted, full marks to anyone who can explain what I've written.

Lassaux ?
Versailles
Fontainbleu
Amboise
Carcassone ?
Rouen
Chartres

INIS MAMUT
TERRA MYSTICA

Those with "?" I'm not sure of ;) Also my French is a bit rusty so I might have messed up the spelling ;)

It's Lascaux, the famous painted caves in southern France, said to be some 18,000 years old. (The last two in capitals are board games.)

Now, your turn, Adam. :)

I had it figured out before you supplied the answers later.

Let's see if anyone can read chicken-scratch

It's readable with a magnifying glass, but honestly this is the sort of handwriting some of my clients had... and it gave me headaches to try to read. I tried explaining to them that the neater their writing or printing was, the faster I could type it, and the quicker they could pick it up and stop worrying about it.

That's very ornate and regular chicken-scratch. It's not easy to read, but it doesn't look rushed off like my usual attempts (some of which are so bad that even I have trouble reading it).

I went to a catholic school and if I picked up a pen the wrong way (which I did often) the nuns would wack my hand with a ruler. After a year of having bleeding knuckles I decided to fight back by taking piano lessons up in the Convent taught by one of the nuns. After that day, the word from God went out and none of the nuns were now allowed to touch my hands. I still hold the pen improperly.
My father is left handed but his mother (who was raised by nuns) beat him until he learned to write with his right hand because the left hand is the devil's hand.
