CFC Minecraft Server -- World 6

Discovered a new species on Croxis' server today...

:D

There's a fountain on the far left, which is part of a road I'm building.

I've had the creative world on svn for a while with snapshots taken every couple of hours. You can point your svn client to here: http://minecraft.croxis.net/creative/

With 1.0 happening in 3 days here is the plan:

I will disable Spout and the spoutcraft requirement, at least until Spout gets 1.0 compliant.
The server will be offline for a bit as I trim back the chunks so we can get all the 1.0 goodness in the terrain.
The nether will be deleted. Get everything out that you want!
The border will remain in place but be slowly relaxed over time.

Starting Monday(ish) I am going to start donations again, but I am wondering what you guys might be interested in for perks. Last time it was Movecraft and ICs. Movecraft is now abandoned so I am hunting for more ideas. I was thinking runecraft although i am open to other ideas. I'm also thinking of adding another tier where for $5 a month you can have your own custom/private world on the server with access to the backup. Subscribers can pick what kind of world they want (normal, flat, space, etc), creative survival, mobs on/off and so on, and who can access the world :P

so croxis for this donation drive how much are you trying to get $90 like usual or more?
also i like those ideas also can vips get access to the rocket mod and ics again

I think I found the source of the lag/memory leaking. Hawkeye was tracking all water and lava flow changes and the code that watches this causes memory leak in the plugin. I've disabled this (as we are mostly interested in who placed the source block) and performance seems to be MUCH better now. I'm monitoring it over the day and if it holds I'll reimpliment Heroes

Thanks for getting rid of tracking on flowing water and lava. It was a pain to wade through to find griefing and whatnot.

So the current plan is to trim back the world and have chunks be remade with the new 1.0 code. However the terrain generation system has totally changed so it would take a bit of work to "smooth" out the terrain edges. It also means we will only have one stronghold on the map as well instead of 3.

I am reitterating the options open to us:

1) Current plan. Delete unbuilt chunks outside the city. New chunks will regenerate with the new code. Nether will be deleted so it can be recreated with all the 1.9 goodies. Creative will remain.

2) Start a new world. Flag buildings to be copied over. Keep creative. I am holding my breath on the use of heightmods and spout on this one.

It will be some time before Bukkit and Spout are updated, so you can keep playing on the server with 1.8 for now.

If we decided to start a new world, would it follow the same district plan as now?

my new home is now under green district control....im getting agitated with this happening
I think raven pulled you into GreenDistrict without asking your permission. He already has his warning so I plan on taking action on it. I will fix the problem next time we are both on.

In other news the first 1.0 bukkit build is out. In a short amount of time I will be deleting non city and non built chunks so they can be regenerated. I will also be deleting the nether. NOW IS THE TIME TO GET PRECIOUS STUFF OUT OF THE NETHER

Also if you have property you would like deleted and regenerated I am also taking requests. The chunky database is separate from the world files so property ownership will still be intact.

Whenever I try to join, it says "The server responded with an invalid server key" or something like that. Is it because the server hasn't been updated? Is it just me?

My initial tests show smooth transitions on all sides. What I basically did was delete everything outside the city, which I know takes out a number of people's things. If anyone has anything outside the city that they really, really want to keep, let me know ASAP!
