CFC Minecraft Server -- World 6

Also, I was thinking of the chunk claiming system. In large towns/cities where building would be close together, one would get a 1x3 chunk to build on (16x48 blocks, or approx. 48x144, the size of a city lot). Outside of city limits, plots would be larger.

I was also thinking of having zoning laws of sorts for the larger towns, so that there's a balance between too random and too uniform. (rural areas wouldn't apply as much, but should have things like a fence border).

That sounds like a good size. I built a mini-tower, but since I have neighbors on all sides, there's not a whole lot that I can do on each floor. There's not a whole lot I can do with the underground either, since once I leave my footprint I can't even put a torch down.

The round roads are cool, but they seem really inefficient, since it seems like all the blocks it touches are off-limits for building

I'll take Green over. Blue has become boring to me, since nobody but Logic builds there. I'd love to help green look more like a ghetto of a city and not a collection of buildings. I set Thomas to mayor of Blue for now.

Im am know (officially) Assistant DA of BlueDistrict, plus i will be trying to not make blue boring. Ill try to expand whomevers village that is by the bridge.

This is going to make a lot of people sad.

A few days ago I reached the point where I lost interest in minecraft and maintaining the server. I've held off because I've gotten mood swings before and returned back. It is in part that I'm now interested in other games and in part of the needless immaturity and whining exhibited by some of the members which is what pushed me over the edge. This is what I need to happen:

I have people as mods for a reason. They should be your first goto in problem solving. If it is beyond their power then you AND the mod come to me. I've put a ticket system in place to help you with this.

I MUST get the server's ram usage down. I'm going to archive the creative world so people can download it if they want and then deactivate it. I am also going to remove a bunch of plugins if that alone doesn't fix the issue. I may take out The End as well.

I need help covering the costs of the server. http://buycraft.net/info/about is an awesome service I am looking into. These are essentially microtransactions which I know a number of people don't like, and I'll accept direct donations as well. If we can average about $40 a month I'll be able to rent a more powerful system.

Server offline while I do serious updates.

Server back up.
Home is now removed. Build a gate if you want to get around fast :)
Creative world is archived and removed from the minecraft server: http://minecraft.croxis.net/worlds/

I have a question: What sort of monthly and/or one time packages you be interested in and actually purchase to help support the server or further your own goals (stack of diamonds for $1, rent your own personal world for $10/mo, etc)?

Well, it seems some gaming companies have been very successful in selling virtual hats to players. :p

Donate real money for geld maybe? Like 1 penny would be 50 or 100 geld?

I'd DEFINATELY support some microtransactions or a premium package for a monthly fee to help you out, especially if it means keeping the server alive. Will any of our other regulars join me?

I had meantioned the idea of a monthly fee for access to things like a "new" creative world and world edit, etc.

Currently buycraft is up, it is also overriding the /buy command so I need to figure out how to fix that. You can now buy things in game or check it out through the webstore: http://store.buycraft.net/croxis It should happen automatically within 5 minutes.

so croxis the rocket launch thing is that just like a one use or do you get access to use that command as much as you want?

Why is it possible for some to claim chunks, but not others? One player claimed a chunk way out in the middle of nowhere, and that's where my (and Maxa's) chests and other stuff were. (now I probably can't get to my iron, redstone, diamonds, lapis, gold, seeds, etc.)

I was right in the middle of helping to build an underground base, too. For some reason, I don't have access to claim chunks, but someone else came along and claimed it.

On the subject of claims, Herbpudding has land claimed in Green even though he's banned. Also, Red seems to also own part of Green. It appears to just be Sea Froggys's house, and if he really needs to keep it, I'd rather it just be owned by him and not Red.

Thanks Skwink, I'm super busy over the next couple of days but I will get to it.

Also, buy command now fixed, you can now use /purchase to donate in game as well.

No rush, I can still build in Herb's place so it's not holding me back.

I really think claiming chunks should not claim chests, doors, etc. placed by other players. That's kind of an exploit if you do own a district and you're in the wilderness gathering resources. Anything you put in a chest isn't safe even if you lock it. I have chests (and doors) in a cave system that Maxa and I were working on, and now I can't even access my chests.
