CFCOT Meetup: Washington DC: May 16th, 6 PM

I live in Norway, so obviously i wont be there. However, i think i speak for a lot of us here when i demand at least oneof you brings a camera and takes lot of pictures to upload for our amusement. To improve the quality of pictures some of you should also drink heavily which hopefully will lead to hilarious incidents on camera also for our amusement.

Thanks in advance.

Other locations:

Brickskeller/Dupont?

Chinatown? (Ella's, Fado's, and Lucky Strike?)

I like the Lucky Strike idea, but Dupont might be better.

I'm down with Dupont/Adams Morgan. I work litteraly, right next to Union Station...so thats easy for me to get to, although I'm a little sick of the food options in that neighborhood

That's because there ain't none.

Georgetown is prob. a little expensive for us (with the exception of 5 guys)

Way too expensive. And I can go to Five Guys anywhere.

Murphy's Irish Pub has awesome food, and is usually a good time with the singing and such.

I'm not a big fan of Murphy's, but that'd be pretty fun.

So, are we just going to stick in the city, or is anyone daring enough to branch out into any of the suburbs, most notably Arlington, Friendship Heights, or Silver Spring?

I suggest checking Amtrak, as it's probably a lot cheaper, so long as you don't mind the additional time needed.

Woah amtrak is actually cheap compared to rail here. Fifty's trip was like 230 each way. For me to travel to Vancouver (same distance, roughly) it would be nearly 3 times that.

Wish I could do it kids but I'm gonna be in Florida with my girlfriend that week/weekend. She is getting certified as a colon hydrotherapist in Kissimmee.

Have fun. Take pics! :)

Note : if someone wants to pay for Amtrak tix from Florida to Wash DC maybe I'd consider it. ;)

not going to be there, but have fun!

Well, we'll need to pick a place for us to meet. I live in Alexandria, though I romped in Arlington for many years.

Now, if we did Olde Town and ate at Murphy's, I could get a decent sized group into a local speakeasy I know about. Its a private club I'm happy to be a member of =). The toughest part of it is not staring at the waitresses.

All locations are metro accesible. For Murphy's King Street would be the stop.

I've never been to Murphy's before, but I'm game. We should make sure that whereever we go, our under 21 friends can at least get in. I had some trouble with that around here (although I am now 21).

I don't think Tonic has that problem. Plus, I can walk to Tonic.

But I'm down for Murphy's if thats easier for our NOVA guys

I think Fifty's in Washington state, so that would be quite expensive and would take a few days. :)

Much more doable from New York out of Penn Station (about 5 hours total, including the trip to Penn, one-way at any rate), but with my girlfriend coming in on the 18th, graduation on the 21st, then packing up the rest of my stuff and leaving my home, the timing just isn't there for me. :crazyeye:

I would go but Im not allowed to enter the United States again until after July 2008. Also, Americans scare me.

Congratulations fellow citizens, mission accomplished!!!

Hey, that's less than an hour away!

I second this notion.

How much of a pain in the ass is it to park in the city? I'm going to have a car in the area, but would it be easier to park it and get on a train from somewhere outside the city? I'm going to be staying in Charles Town, WV, (not Charleston) if that makes any difference.
