Civ 6 with 25% at Green man gaming

Yes, I've ordered multiple games and they've never failed to deliver. Only issue is for big releases you aren't guaranteed to get the code day one as their distribution is a bit slow with high demand

Oh, I see. Thanks mate :)

So, do you think they will send code kinda late for Civ VI?

Late is never that late. The only 'late' games I got from them were still 2 days before release just 2 days after other retailers sent out their preloads.

Can you confirm this as factual? Or is it just what you think it is? I've bought EU keys from GMG in the past and they worked fine.

Also whats the voucher code? I only get 20% off which is actually less as its a base $70 usd instead of $60.

regional codes: I have it from http://civilized.de They're a very trustworthy source when it comes to civ-news (german civfanatics as far as I'm concerned, working closely together with writingbull (radio-journalist and youtuber) who himself obviously has very good relations to gamersplanet, key-seller.

Usually you get 20% there, if you use BULLSCIV6 as code you should get 25%... worked for me :)

He explained that in the youtube-video from what I posted the link...

I once bought a game through GMG and it turned out I had to launch it through their own console (I don't remember the name, but it was their own equivalent to Steam) and they didn't apply patches to the game when they were released but only weeks or sometimes several weeks later. I don't know if they still have this system but I swore to myself never to buy anything through GMG again.

Civ6 will probably be a Steam game, so that shouldn't be a problem

Haven't pre-ordered anything on GMG, is it safe guys?

Yes. I have bought and pre-ordered various titles on GMG over the years, and I have never had any problems.

With sales like these, they sacrifice a chunk of their profit for new customers, whereas Valve/Steam just keep the full 30% cut. Nothing illegitimate about it.

I wonder how the preorders are going? I would think that people are leary after the disastrous launch of Civilization 5.

I don't know if people are really leary. I think those of us who browse CivFanatic are in a bubble about what most casual gamers think of Civ. This is anectodal but a couple friends of mine bought CiV on launch thought it was brilliant. They played a few games put it way and went back with each expansion for a few games. I think a lot of purchasers of CiV are like them.

how do you people get it for $45? My gmg checkout is 20% off $70 which obviously isn't worth it.

My recommendation: WAIT, don't preorder. Civ6 will inevitably launch with bugs and imbalances, hopefully minimized but still very likely game breaking. If you have the patience to wait (good discipline), then just wait. If you don't then go and download Vox Populi for Civ5 and have a LOT of fun while you wait for the first big civ6 patch, and the Christmas sale in Steam. ;)

While I won't tell people what to do, I do agree with the sentiment for those who are not civfanatics  ,to wait. Civ:BE and Civ:RT went on sale less than two months after release. Not saying that Civ6 will be like those games but pointing out that its quite the sour taste to buy the game on day 1 (or pre-order) only for the launch to be buggy or whatever and when its finally fixed? It also goes on sale to boot

Yeah waiting for Steam sale is my go-to excuse if I'm not that interested in a game. My queue and wishlist is huge and I always say 'ill wait for the sale ;)'. For me as a fanatic and fan that plays Civ in phases, finding and discussing bugs is half the fun as well as seeing the million newbie posts saying the same thing, though I suspect that will be severely diminished on CFC and I'll be reading those on Steam forums instead.

I'll have the next six years to enjoy the game so I'm not really all that concerned that I'll get day 1 bugs or be annoyed at something.

Some of my best memories RE: playing Civ are launch week playthroughs for Civ3, Civ3 Conquests, Civ4 & Warlords, and Civ5 + expansions.

Does anyone know how long it took for Civ V to go on sale on Steam? I tried searching but couldn't find statistics that old. (I'm not expecting a bigger discount. Just wondering how valuable these presale discounts are.)

I would have gone for that 25% off if GMG weren't region based price fixed. I'll wait for another deal, if i have too I'll buy from some less reputable site. I refuse to support price fixing.

Don't seem to be valid anymore.

Nope, I just tried as well and it wouldn't work, they must have run out of keys, because the other games on that email worked when I used their codes.

I rely on my phone to alert me when I get a new email, but for some reason it wasn't sending alerts and I checked my email today and got all the ones from last week :(, by the time I tried this code out it was invalid for Civ VI.
