Civ V Civilizations Roster

I think he was stating that it would be one of those three.

It also had Greek, German, Chinese and American quotes in the voiceover for the trailer.

^Spain was kicked out from vanilla Civ3... so it isn't too radical an idea... Though still if they kick out Spain in favor of the Vikings that'd still really surprise me.

The Vikings can suck it. If they kick out Spain I'm fine, but kicking out Spain and not using the slot for Babylon would just be mean of them.

Babylon could still be in. Take the Vanillia Civ3 roster, add Turkey and the Vikings, and maybe make some replacements with Persia and the Iroquois (probably the Inca and maybe some sort of Indonesian Civ), and you still have a solid roster that includes your beloved Babylon.

Spain can represent Brazil if you're stretching the definition to include all Ibero-American nations.

I think the Trailer is confirming some Civs, I know I would be annoyed if they did that. It just seems like asking for trouble for putting out a false info in a Trailer just to make it look cool.

Now again, can somebody please explain me HOW a wonder/victory/introductory movie with added tech/victory/other-in-game-feature quotes confirms or denies a civ?

It just reminds me of the (much shown around here) screenshot of an early civIV with totally different set-ups. These not-in-game movies MAY have nothing to do with the content of the game.

I'm not saying the Vikings will not be in, but their movie sequence may very well be part of the opening movie, without them being in. I'm pretty positive that there are other instances of this sort of behaviour probably in civIV.

It just seems like a waste of CGI money to make a scene of a Civ that isn't in the game. It just seems like poor treatment for fans to Tease certain civs and then not deliver. It's one thing for the game look to differ as they are still working on it but to show this trailer and say these civs are not in the game seems unfair thing to do.

It definitely doesn't confirm them, but I would say that it does make their inclusion more likely.

Putting in the Vikings at all in Vanilla Civ V seems like a waste of space to me personally. Spain by extension somewhat represents everything from Mexico to Argentina, save Brazil.....in a way. To replace them with the Vikings........

Wow never compare a Spainard to a Mexican, that can get you killed. Like calling an Irish or Scotsman, English.

...they are the same thing anyway, as far as politics go.

honestly, i dont think Mexico has any native Aztecs left. they probably do, or something.

I may be the only Latino with the balls to do it because I'm more Spaniard than anything else(Italian or Quechua), even though I have Italian citizenship rather than Spanish. :p

But we're culturally similar for sure, that's something no one can deny, and Spain DID create the basis for every Spanish-speaking state in the New World.....that's got to count for something.

EDIT: They're called the Nahuatl, and there are atleast 2 million of them. Every Mexican that isn't entirely white, asian, or black, has some Nahuatl in them, and atleast 2 million speak Nahuatl. Also, calling us the same thing reeks of ignorance. If we were the same, then we wouldn't have revolted from the Spaniards, but we did. I've also seen your comments about the Ottoman Turks apparently not doing anything signficant?!?!?

They do. Including the descendants of the Aztecs and Mayans, there are a lot of indigenious peoples still alive with Mexico who don't have a lot of (if any) Spanish or European blood in them.
