Yea, deranged mutant killer snowlems:

Looks like April Fool's came early. My eyes skipped straight to the civ list (missing the "One World" joke), but you lost me at "Pele of the Brazilians".

Heat Miser

He's the warmonger DLC civ leader to follow the expansion. Frosty will clearly be a cultural leader, what with the snow statues and ice sculptures and all.

The civs will be:

Charlie Sheen of the Estevez's: UA - +5 happiness, -5 production per city; UB - Brothel; UU - Drugged-Up Celebrity

Alec Baldwin of the Baldwins: UA - Free Great Artist on Turn 1; UB - The Academy (replaces Opera House, +2 gold for every turn you don't throw a tantrum on a plane); UU - Billy Baldwin

Ron Artest of the NBA: UA - All units fight 100% better on offense, but units too apathetic to play defense; UU - Shaq; UU - Hennesey

Benedict Arnold of the 8th Circle of Hell: UA - Dead units are 'resurrected' the turn they die at 45% of original hp, and permanently lose 1 movement point; UB - Pile of Skulls (replaces monument, provides +1 production and -2 faith, in addition to regular monument culture); UU - The Wicked (replaces the Worker, improves tiles at double speed and has no unit maintenance, but only has 1 movement point).

E.T. of the Extra Terrestrials: UA - Rivers do not affect movement (because units can fly over them on their magic bikes); UU - Drew Barrymore (replaces Pikeman, gains +2 gold for every unit killed but costs +1 gold in maintenance because of spending money on addictions at age of 7); UI - Phone Booths (provide +1 science on any tile next to a city)

T-Rex of the Dinosaurs: UA - All units are melee units, and gain Woodsman promotion; UU - Raptors (replace Great War Infantry, may attack twice per turn); Unique Great Person - After teching to Archaeology, receive two free Great Archaeologists named Alan Grant and whatever Jeff Goldblum's character was called in Jurassic Park.

The Situation of the Jersey Shore: UA - Units spend more time attacking each other than the enemy, and tend to pull hair or fight dirty; UU - Angry Citizens (replace Infantry, do +25% damage but are twice as likely to fight your own units); UU - Police (replace inquisitors, twice as powerful at removing the Jersey Shore religion of 'Drunkism', may defend themselves against attacks).

does anyone know if the 2k news page already had that same civ-themed background image in the last days (or months?) or is that something they changed recently? the last civ related news on that page was from the day g&k was released and most other subpages feature borderlands or bioshock related artwork in the background, so it seems odd...

I'm not sure. I think it's new, and perhaps with one or two new "skyscraper wonders" in the background and air baloons. If it's new, it looks promisingly modern - perhaps there will be modern civs like Brazil and Canada too?

Why would Arnold just be the 8th Circle? I thought ultra high treason put you in the mouth.

I was looking at their website yesterday, and this background image wasn't there. It was a Bioshock image before, I think.

I recognize some of those buildings as being from modern Shanghai.

Art Grin's picture is the one: How weird, cruel and perhaps telling of 2K: Posting a Civ4 picture as the background on their news page.

*Sob*

Guys, it's the Civ4 box-art on the 2k homepage.

Spoiler :

You're absolutely right, of course. But it was a Bioshock image yesterday, and their previous news item was from Bioshock. Unless they change the background image every day, I suspect we may have civ news just around the corner.

Since I can't see it: Could someone maybe make a screenshot?

Here: It's just the Civ4 box-art as the background on their homepage.

Good god, they are releasing a civ4 expansion pack!:D
Maybe your right and we'll get some Civ related news in the near future.

Seems like we'll be waiting another week...

...yay...

Just wondering, is this whole discussion still fueled by that single listing in the steam database? Has there ever been any other evidence that there might actually even be another expansion?

Yep. Pretty much. We are that desperate.
