Civ4 Warlords - OT game?

Are you interested in playing an OT Warlords multiplayer starting 1st August?

Teams are fun :D

Plus absences could be covered by a team-member.

We could always just enable permanent alliances...

EDIT: I just remember this is Warlords... aka Vassals! Maybe teams is not such a good idea.
 
Vassals or not Im for teams.

The teams would have to be balanced, with someone neutral to look at the starting spots and decide on the teams with civs next to each other.

I think with teams preset the members automatically start next to each other. Can someone that has actually played MP teams confirm this?

Not directly next to each other and really it depends-ive never played such a huge team game but in my 2 team ones its been from 5 to 20+tiles away.

Point 1 - Teams can make nice banter in the game thread
Point 2 - shared research
Point 3 - If someone in a team is missing another team member can play his turns
Point 4 - Permanant alliances are a must
Point 5 - strategy discussions is better at 3 than alone

I'm figuring on a Friday (Aug 18th) start on this game. And I prefer no teams and perm alliances not enabled (but vassal states enabled), because diplomacy is even better if there's still a risk of allied backstabbing, but the will of the majority takes it.

Other suggestions:

No AIs unless reserved for players that are about to get Warlords in the next couple weeks or so, meaning probably 15 or 16 players.

20hr turn timer setting (which should result in actual 24hr turns - dammit I still haven't fixed that in the Civivor game).

Large map, perhaps we can get a custom map made for it.

Barbs on, but not raging.

Tech trading enabled.

Random civs.

Normal speed.
 
all that sounds good to me-large preferrably not a huge map because they just dont run at all on ym machine :)

Yeah, huge is right out for me as well, and the pitboss machine being a Celeron500 with 256MB RAM, I have no desire to bring it to its knees any sooner than necessary anyway. ;)
 
No teams set make them in the game. 18th would be great. I will be out of town for 3 days that next week...I would appreciate it not to get killed from the game when I am gone. IF any of you do remove me...I hope every one kills you off next so then I can play you in a head to head game.

Seriouly it will be turns 3 to 6..nothing will happen so I will set my que up. I'd normally get a sub BUT they are either in this game or dont have warlords yet.

I'll go for this. One thing - I am away for 4 days from the 24th, so will automate for that.

I say no teams and no perma alliance enabled.
 
While I'd like to pick my own civ, I think random offers most fairness to all. No complaining about someone stealing your favourite civ when they got it by chance.
