New Unique Unit - The Guy with Snake Coming From His Head

Spoiler :
tskptu6.png

Additional Unique Unit that they tried keeping in shadows. Given the earlyness of the one from previous image one would guess Spearman or Warrior but both are present so either it's the same unit and completely new (not replacing Spearman or Warrior), or this might be another unique unit, perhaps even unrelated to Byblon. And there's chance it improves into Horseman.

Is this Jade or something new?

By the way, are you the guy that appears in the November update video with Carl? I expected you to be a middle aged guy looking like Andrew Johnson the president to be honest.

Yep, that's me. Hello! I'm probably older than I look - "middle aged guy" is on the horizon for me, tbh.

If you're interested in my research a search for Andrew Alan Johnson plus anthropology or plus Thailand should find stuff.

EDIT: BTW Andrew you have mesmerizing eyes.

I joined the Sanguine Pact.

ngl you did not look anything like I expected you to, but it was very fun to see you in one of the announcement vids!

Do you mean this kind of snake?

Spoiler :
800px-Assyrian_spearman_%C2%B7_HHWI469.svg.png

But he is an Assyrian spearman

Dunno, that kind of snake is attached by the middle while the one on the image seems to be attached by its end

This Mamlakan Warrior (according to Pinterest) seems to have the right snake
EDIT: Though I can't find any reference to the mamlak thing, perhaps typo and was supposed to be mamluk, whom we already have or something.

Maybe Trung Nhi would reuse the code from the Heroes game mode for the leader ability of Trung Trac, like an unique hero unit for the vietnamese
Considering the heroes are just beefed up Great People, I don't see why Trung Nhi wouldn't just be a singular unique Great General.

It seems kind of disappointing, but the cool thing about it would be if they DO do a second NFP and the last one from this is Portugal, that means there will be wildly new faces in the second. If not, then it is probably the cap on DLC and we can close the book for a bit.
I mean I would buy a second season if the returning ones were Austria, Iroquois, Siam and Assyria. :mischief:
Not sure if it would happen considering most of them, if not all, seem to have been "replaced" in this iteration.

Wait, you're not Ramkhamhaeng under a pseudonym? WHAT OTHER LIES HAVE YOU KEPT FROM US?

And if the returning ones were Morocco, Shoshones, Hittie, and Venice you wouldn't? ;)
Well personally I'd rather Berbers, Italy, and not another nomadic Native American civ as new ones to balance things out. :p
I'd take the Hittites though and at this point they could be considered new. :mischief:

If there is another round of passes, these are my bets (considering Portgual is the final civ in March): Assyria, Austria, Venice, Iroquois, Berbers, Hawaii, Madagascar and Bulgaria. The alternative leader is likely to be Egyptian.

give me deblobbed india or give me death

So with Hammurabi confirmed, so far we have 1 female leader and 5 male leaders.
If FXS decides to put both Trung Sisters as one for the leaders for Vietnam, so will it mean the 3 female leaders quota fulfilled? Or can we assume the last pack would have a female leader as well?

If Kubilai Khan can only lead Mongolia and not China ala Eleonor, then I'd say China is in more need for an alt leader than Egypt.

Truly both China and Egypt need it and they should be less stingy with alternate leaders.

EDIT: while the persona packs are nice, I think some people are a little annoyed that France essentially has three leaders with that while other places like Egypt or China have one

China currently has a Chinese leader who established the first dynasty; Egypt is currently led by a Greek who presided over the collapse of the last vestige of Egyptian civilization. While that's not really her fault, she's still no Ramesses or Hatshepsut. I'd say Egypt is much more direly in need of an alternate leader. (But yes, once Egypt has a second leader, then China should definitely be next.)

I know they originally said the feature was for modders, but their official implementation has been so arbitrary as to feel pretty dissatisfying.

I mean, if the devs include a feature I think THEY should use it too. On the whole i think you and I completely agree though. We need a second Egyptian leader and another Chinese leader. If they give us Kublai as a dual leader, I guess I can be sort of satisfied for China. But if they do a second NFP or ANY additional content, give me an Egyptian leader please.

Oh, to clarify, I wasn't justifying Firaxis's use of the feature. I was simply saying that they said it was only a feature for modders--and if they had left it at Greece I probably could have bought that line. But since they have added additional leaders, I feel like their choices have been arbitrary. Chandragupta is a great addition, but I could have done without Eleanor--and if he doesn't lead China, I could have done without Kubilai, too. It seems weird that they chose a second leader for France and England who is subject to the same criticisms as their original choices (I'd definitely like her better if the original French and English leaders had been, say, Henry IV and Elizabeth I), and if Kubilai only leads Mongolia I can't say I was just dying for a second Mongolian leader, either.

How is the situation with Mongolia and China now? Does anybody know how Kublai is perceived over there now? Won't his inclusion bring problems for Firaxis?
