Confirmed: modes are add-on content for the base game

Just play a game you enjoy.I hate to be that guy, but the agenda system being the abject failure it is, only gets fixed if you purchase some DLC? Man that isn't likely going to bring back the guys that quit this game years ago... As much as I like buying Civ stuff automatically, I almost feel like waiting for someone to show a video about it first before buying it. My only real gripe with Civ6 is the lack of personalities system and diplomacy, like Civ5 had. It really gets old getting denounced for "grievances" by civs that have warmonger agendas like Sparta, Rome, Macedon, etc. Then when you stop warmongering, they call you a coward more or less. It's utterly ridiculous. In Civ 5, Mongols, Attila, and similar Civs could seriously care less about your warmongering to an extent. The game felt more realistic and immersive instead of stale sandbox like Civ6 is.
I hope that long rant I made last year as well as others, like various Youtubers, was truly listened to and they intend to fix that. Even if it is half as good as Civ5's that would be okay with me. Eventually modders might be able to make a masterpiece out of it, but that is if they even bother releasing the .dll information....
Well sureIs it a Natural Wonder that sinks naval units and air units? I don't really want that nearby
Strategic resources was reworked and the grievances system was added. Both nice improvements although not entirely new mechanics.I'm actually OK with this. When you think about it, as great an expansion as GS was, the only new systems it added were the climate change/weather system and the WC/diplomatic victory. The best Civs from GS (Maori, Mali, Phoenicia) all managed to have really fun uniques without especially relying on the new mechanics.
Doesn't look entirely natural to me.it's Paititi Natural Wonder
I am just wondering if Maya and Gran Colombia will be playable in "normal mode" without Apocalypse.https://twitter.com/antonstrenger/status/1259887099001688071?s=19

Ah, good point. Though again, no great loss.Strategic resources was reworked and the grievances system was added. Both nice improvements although not entirely new mechanics.
Off the back of this, I've just reset my hype levels to 'over 9000'"For those of you wondering about the Game Modes in the
@CivGame
New Frontier Pass, they are not scenarios like Red Death or Black Death. They are systems and/or content additions to a normal game, and you can turn on as many as you want! I think of them like ice cream toppings. You want to put gummi bears and sprinkles and chocolate syrup on your ice cream cone? Go for it. - Anton

I'd be astonished if that were not the case.I am just wondering if Maya and Gran Colombia will be playable in "normal mode" without Apocalypse.
Maya is North America though? Unless you want to split it Latin vs Anglo-Saxon that is.Well Maya is nice, let's hope its Lady Six Sky.
Gran Colombia was a bit unexpected but cool.
So From what I see they release civ's by continent. South America now, next Africa with Ethiopia. So no more civs from those continents. Europe and Asia will get 2 leaders for sure, and the last one I guess will smth like Iroquis. Well lets see prediction threads in future.
Ain't that sugar?View attachment 555272
Is that resource in front of the windmill new?
I'm no gringo, fam. I understand their use of "Gran", as I've said on the very post to which you replied so angrily. Also, wanna trade governments? I'd love to have Maduro here on Brazil that's for sure"i hIPI thIY dRIP ThI GriN fRIm tHi GIMi-PliY NIme"
SHUT THE **** UUP GRINGO
As a Venezuelan living in Venezuela, i'd be offended if they DO NOT add the "Gran" in the title, specially if it's lead by Bolivar. If they just make it Colombia, then it'll feel like they're only putting in Colombia and ignoring Venezuela (and Ecuador but no one cares about them).
(Btw USA is NOT to blame for our current situation, 20 years of government are. No one gives a **** about the "invasion" other than the government. If anything the majority wishes we got one. A proper takeover)
I think you're jumping the gun here, as a lot of people are. Today was essentially an announcement and a brief preview. We don't even have much information about the two civs coming next week.i dont see anywhere new units , can anyone find anywhere some info about all the missing must have units that should be coming?
This does seem like a strange misnomer. On one hand, they indicate no new systems, but on the other, it suggests these gamemodes add new systems... so... it evens out?
Surely. I'd be incredibly surprised otherwise. From what I understand, the Apocalypse thing is an add-on that just so happens to be introduced at the same time/in the same pack as Maya and Gran Colombia. They should be able to be used separately.I am just wondering if Maya and Gran Colombia will be playable in "normal mode" without Apocalypse.
It’s tricky because I think when most of the fans be hear “new systems” they think expansion features like corporations, colonies, etc. These are what we are not getting.
What we are getting are optional additional twists to the game... a bit like a scenario but applicable to random maps and leaders.

Part of me feels like the Maya will get an ability based around the "apocalypse" though since they are releasing them at the same time.Surely. I'd be incredibly surprised otherwise.
