interestingly geneva is still a city-state (taken over in the video), even though it was founded by the Allbrogian and Helvetii Gauls
It probably cause when people think of Geneva, it's more in a industrial and modern sense.interestingly geneva is still a city-state (taken over in the video), even though it was founded by the Allbrogian and Helvetii Gauls
I saw that coming too but without Cardiff.Haha, Gaul!
I knew Scotland wasn’t a replacement for the Celts!

also @SeelingCat do you have a plan for how you’ll handle both Byz and Ottomans having Constantinople as their capital in the Improved City Names/Rosetta Stone module?
I’d assume either Bursa or Edirne becomes Ottoman capital if the Byz are in the game?
seems like a good idea, although (i don’t know if this is possible) if both are in the game i think constantinople should defer to the byz even if they’re founding the capital later since they don’t really have another capital option. As it works right now (assuming nothing suprising), it would just pick a name at random from the city list for whoever founded their capital later. I'll probably wind up coding a special circumstance for this case most likely
Or just the fact that it's in modern-day Switzerland. It probably cause when people think of Geneva, it's more in a industrial and modern sense.
Half of the cities were also Scottish, well maybe not half but still.I don't know why so many people thought it was. Minus geographical location and ethnicity, Scotland had almost nothing in common with Civ 5's Celts.
I hope not. The Belgae were only ambiguously Gaulish. I'd much rather have Dumnorix or Divitiacus.
the guard are like a byz mehal saferi, it’s possible they won’t show upEDIT: I forgot to mention that he helped form the Varangian Guard, which could be incorporated into his design as a unique unit.
what do you mean ambiguously gaulish?I hope not. The Belgae were only ambiguously Gaulish. I'd much rather have Dumnorix or Divitiacus.

I just kind of like the confirmation that they won't be getting a cataphract, which wasn't necessarily Byzantine in origin in the first place. The Byzantine guy in the corner seems to have a white beard and the standard Byzantine crown. My money is on Basil II as he is one of the most well-known Byzantine emperors and tends to be portrayed as having a white/grey beard.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that he helped form the Varangian Guard, which could be incorporated into his design as a unique unit.
I mean we do technically already have Harald Hadrada, who was a member and captain, and they are mentioned on his bio. I like the idea more of them showing up for Basil II than the Mehal Sefari for Menelik II, personally.the guard are like a byz mehal saferi, it’s possible they won’t show up
It's a little unclear whether the Belgae were Gaulicized Germans or Germanicized Gauls, but they were definitely regarded as distinct from the Gauls, even by Caesar.what do you mean ambiguously gaulish?
Yes. Most notably from this list, the Aquitanians weren't even Indo-European but Vasconic (related to the Basques). At its broadest, "Gaul" just meant everyone living in the region the Romans called Gallia, whether they were Celts or not. From what I call tell, there are several layers to the word "Gallic" (much like the term "Scythian"). There is the broader definition, which includes the Belgae, Aquitanians, Cisalpine Gauls, Pannonian Gauls, and Gaul proper. You can narrow it down a lot until you mainly just include the regions of Gaul in France.
I'm guessing Zaarin was referring to something along these lines.
If it does come later in the NFP as one of the standalone packs I would argue that this might be the last content for the game. If it doesn't come in NFP I agree there might be a second season.I still think Portugal is coming, they seem to give lots of fan favorites and it seems to be one of the most if not THE most requested civ.
