[NFP] Civilization VI: Possible New Civilizations Thread

All I hear is H'amourabi's Amourite accent when he speaks about Code of Love..
That apostrophe is actually appropriately placed since Hammurabi's name begins with ʿayin in Amorite: ʿammurāpi, "the kinsman is a healer."

Regarding the suggestion we will likely see Maria for Portugal again- I really hope not, I just don't think she's an important/good enough leader of Portugal to be repeated 2 games in a row over much better options. If Vietnam has a female leader (probable) but not Portugal, and there is 2 out of 9 leaders female, that's only slightly lower representation. Better still they can give us a different civ with a better female leader choice (how about something African, still sorely lacking representation), and release Portugal separately in a future DLC.

With virtually all staples covered by NFP, I don't think there will be any more DLC. If Portugal doesn't make it now, I don't think it'll make it at all.

The "3 female leaders" quota would be covered if Vietnam's leader is the Trung Sisters...

that WOULD leave a door open for Portugal in the final slot, with a male leader. If not, i would guess Haudenosaunee or Cherokee with a female leader.

I have to agree with regards to the mahavihara. They are Buddhist monasteries. I have no idea about Trading Domes.

What if they are city-state UIs?
Mahavihara UI for Anuradhapura seems likely.

What CS you guys think will be replacing Babylon and still have the same suzerain bonus (I hope is not Nineveh)
Celsus or Mari?

So Babylon is coming, this had more chances than Assyria anyway since it has been since Civ1 and it's tradition of the series.

Portugal will probably close the pass round in March, this means no for another native civilization in North America.

I’ve long advocated for the kudurru to be a UI that culture bombs on your borders.
If Babylon doesn't get a unique library I second the kudurru would as the next best choice.

I also like the idea of Babylon been the One City civ, maybe the Campus gets a +2 science for every level of wall when adjecent to the city and Hammurabi could get an unique Goverment plaza building that replaces the Ancestral Hall, also i like the idea of the Culture bomb kudurru

Even the mere possibility that the dumb gimmick idea also could be used as an excuse to skimp on female leaders fills me with inconsolable rage.

By all good reasoning, the devs would not release a second tall science civ after the Maya in the same expansion cycle. They want to diversify playstyles, not converge them.

But then again f Babylon is in the game so apparently all good design principles have been thrown out the window! We might as well expect Babylon to be precisely the most obvious and superfluous concept we can come up with! :crazyeye:

i might be late and this "leak" has already been proven to be legit, but i wondered if there is a leader whose rig/body shape looks similar, knowing that would be a way to determine its legitimacy since the NFP leaders have done so. my first thought was it looked similar to Chandragupta. wonder if anyone else noticed or if its a redundant thought if the leak is infact verified to be real.

Without question Chandragupta's model. Proportions and pose are nearly identical.

Were you a bit quicker on the draw you could have seen it on the Switch eShop for yourself. It's been taken down by now though.

I have a good feeling that Hammurabi will be the government focus. The question remains will the unique infrastructure be science related or not, due to the science focus.

I'm hoping that's the case so the civ's general ability is focused around infrastructure/walls instead of making it the unique infrastructure.

I could see Hammurabi starting with Code of Laws and maybe having an extra policy slot of some sort.

I could also see the UA being something like a production discount to city center buildings.

I anticipate the unique infrastructure will be a unique Library. We're overdue for a unique building.

So...I’m still holding out hope for a Shoshone replacement.

Since every Civ from V is either matched with a replacement (like Gaul for Celts), brought back directly (Babylon), or represented as a City-State (Portugal, Venice, Morocco)...granted this could be the Shoshone returning as a City-State and swapping out one of the 3.
