COM2 - n00bile deities

Yeeha Leha!
Azteca is looking very, how should I say, Iroquois these days.

Any progress in Korea or did you have to bring those units home? The Incans will be a pushover and IIRC the Greeks didn't have oil.

 I didn't feel it was appropriate to name an army after myself so I named some cities after beaches and harbors in Chicago except for Green Bay which "is" the frozen tundra.

Sorry guys, I wound up missing in action for a while when the modem I was hoping to connect with refused to work for a change. I can't play before Saturday either, so a swap would be nice. Or I can take it then if you don't mind a little more delay.

Pre-turn:

We look to be in a very nice shape. Decide it's too much work for too little benefit
to start looking through all the cities (we have 95) :). I do hurry a few temples
to grab some lands.

Turn 1, 1762 AD:

Take Tepexpan with no losses. Flip risk is prolly pretty high but still easier to deal with
than to transport another settler.

com2_1_tepexpan.jpg

Take Calixtlahuaca with artillery support, no losses. Abandon it later.

com2_2_calixtlahuaca.jpg

IBT: Greece drops a landing party of 6 at the Inca island.

Turn 2, 1764 AD:

Burn Tlapocan.

Hattusha falls and doesn't get burned to push borders for easier movement.

com2_4_hattusha.jpg

Tharsus falls, same deal. If we have enough units, the Aztec mainland will be
"liberated" next turn.
com2_5_tharsus.jpg

Tyrana puts up a fight, we actually lose two armors conquering it.

Ancient city of Hattusas (they had the Colossus :)) surrenders before our armies.
com2_7_hattusas.jpg

IBT: Greece drops another 6 at the same spot.. now I'm actually a little concerned
since some of our troops are still injured from the first encounter.

Turn 3, 1766 AD:

We're 16-1 vs the Greece during the past two turns.

The Aztecs get banished from their home continent and we get another leader
in the process.

Meanwhile our friends the Koreans are also pounding the Aztecs.
com2_koreans.jpg

Turn 4, 1768 AD:

Conquer and abandon the little Korean ice-fishing village next to our aluminum.
com2_9_chonju.jpg

Aztecs continue biting the dust.

IBT: Clearly I had forgotten about the draft/pop-rush unhappiness transferring
as the aluminum-village riots.

Turn 5, 1770 AD:

The RNG is not with me this turn, first Bede's division loses 13 hp against a regular
mech inf (surviving though), then an elite armor dies against a tow inf.

IBT: Aztecs dig up their navy and sink a destroyer and 3 empty transports. I so did
not see that one coming.

Turn 6, 1772 AD:

Another one of our armies survives with 1 hp, I'm not sure whether this should be called
good or bad luck. Get another leader called Shenandoah, third one in this game only
during my turns.

IBT: The Aztec navy manages to wreck a battleship that couldn't get far enough.

Turn 7, 1774 AD:

Aztecs get down to 1 city, Koreans lose a pair.

IBT: Greek sub catches another empty transport. They also add first part in their spaceship,
which is rather odd, cos I had just checked that nobody was building any SS parts. Manp'o
flips once more.

Turn 8, 1776 AD:

We're at 62% land, 66% pop.

Poor Aztecs are no more.
com2_aztecs_die.jpg

Recapture Manp'o.

A couple of Greek cities fall.

Turn 9, 1778 AD:

We're about 30 tiles from the domination limit and Athens is nicely in the range.
And 8 dead defenders later we're in control of Athens and destroy the Greek SS.
com2_athens_falls.jpg

Then we take Sparta.
com2_sparta_falls.jpg

And Delphi.
com2_delphi_falls.jpg

That puts us over the limit and as I'm quite tired I just end the turn there.

And that's that. :) Our final score is 6794.

Knew we could do it once we got out of the jungles.....

Nicely finished Niko, couldn't have done it better myself. :goodjob:

And a big well done to the n00bile Deities, n00bile no longer.

:thankx: Whomp and gang for converting me from lurker to player

This has been my very favorite SG everyone! Nothing like a horrible start and that type of comeback. Awesome job everyone!!

Glorious victorious Niko!! :king:

That was quite a game :goodjob:

Thanks everybody! Bede, I take your "steal tech tactics" with me.
I leave CFC from 18-SEP till 11-OCT, but when I'm back I will be glad to play more with every member of this team.

Yay, now that's a nice surprise to come back to! Well done, Niko; I doubt I could have hit the limit in those turns.

If we all want to do another SG, I would love to join in.
