Could you take on a raptor with a suit of platemail and a sword

I must admit that I wouldn't want to be in a maze with one. I suspect their reflexes are faster, and clanking in armour is a disadvantage.

Not in the maze, since that would be reserved for your second confrontation with death, this time with a Minotaur, running man

Yeah, I definately would not want a maze as a setting for combat with a raptor. Too many entrances and such to confuse me, and it could easily sneak up on me. The armor would be too loud for me to be constantly listening for the raptor.

Although, their ability to charge would be a disadvantage in an open field, unless you use the sword like we use a hockey stick to cross-check.

edit: that's number 1000? Sigh. I need to improve my own standards. Maybe I'll edit in an essay on world peace in here later.

Give a suit of daedric armour and a katana and i'll take on a T-Rex. With a Ginat Radioactive monkey with a gun on it's back.

to no one particular at all:

I don't know if thats something to brag about and my momma could probably kick your ass anyways. :p
She's quite a bit more deadly than a raptor if you get her mad.

First off, any medieval armor will do NOTHING. A raptor's bite will presumably crush bone- whether there's a crappy plate of forged steel covering it or not.

I would throw on a chain shirt to protect my torso from claws, and then arm myself with a Katana. Now THAT would pwn him.

What if you weren't wearing crappy metal plate but had a suit of ankylosaur plates?

That would violate the dinosaur code of ethic. It would be very dishonourly to take on a raptor at the expense of an ankylosaur; exploiting one dinosaur to eliminate another is unthinkable.

I'd fight one with chain mail, a good big shield, and a sword or spear.

I'd try to deflect it with the shield as it leapt at me, then attack it as it skidded to a stop.

I bet that Chuck Norris could kill a Raptor with a swift roundhouse kick in the face.

I guess I will have to throw away my triceratops helmet, too. :(

Some people pay up to 110 euros to watch bullfighting, which is more or less what you are proposing, but with fighting bulls instead of velociraptors. No armor but you have a sword.

Edit, the numbers on the rows are the prices in euros. Note that the closest to the arena, the higher the prices are. And being in the shadow has its price as well.

I can in WoW, as well as EQ.

Ok, I still want a diagram of weather how exactly this kind of battle would go down.
