oopsie

i am reminded of certain accusations and policy stuff here from a few years ago. some argument over what we should call things. more oopsies!

seems some criminal charges are due. not just for obvious candidates like atf and fbi, but for a few folks involved with covid policy as well.

A James Comer report? Isn't that the buffoon that got all out of sorts about some Biden-related LLCs while having most of his assets tied up in LLCs?

Well thirty seconds of reading and this release looks like bullfeathers from the GoP...

Seriously man, you can't believe this ****.

WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION (WHO): The WHO’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic was an abject failure because it caved to pressure from the Chinese Communist Party and placed China’s political interests ahead of its international duties. Further, the WHO’s newest effort to solve the problems exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic — via a “Pandemic Treaty” — may harm the United States.

SOCIAL DISTANCING: The “6 feet apart” social distancing recommendation — which shut down schools and small business across the country — was arbitrary and not based on science. During closed door testimony, Dr. Fauci testified that the guidance, “sort of just appeared.”

MASK MANDATES: There was no conclusive evidence that masks effectively protected Americans from COVID-19. Public health officials flipped-flopped on the efficacy of masks without providing Americans scientific data — causing a massive uptick in public distrust.

LOCKDOWNS: Prolonged lockdowns caused immeasurable harm to not only the American economy, but also to the mental and physical health of Americans, with a particularly negative effect on younger citizens. Rather than prioritizing the protection of the most vulnerable populations, federal and state government policies forced millions of Americans to forgo crucial elements of a healthy and financially sound life.
Almost every word of this is bullfeathers or just whining from a bunch of chuds who do not understand basic chemistry much less epidemiology.

It is true that Fauci, etc. did a lot to sew mistrust. His intentions may have been good, but the consequences I think ultimately proved to be worse than the temporary benefits.

That said, this wing of the GOP needs to stop its own inconsistent messaging of downplaying its severity yet claiming it was a product of the CCP. Whether or not the latter is true, it is certainly true that the WHO plays to their tune: they praised China’s travel restrictions and then bashed Japan’s.

Sweden did it the best.

The school closures were a disaster.

Small businesses closed but Walmart open.

Billionaires got exponentially richer while the average person suffered. Typical disaster economics.

Honestly, Taiwan seems to have done the best job of dealing with this. They didn't have covid for a while at first and everything was open. They do have several advantages though:

1. They are an island, like Madagascar
2. They have citizens that are eager to contribute to the common good

So when COVID eventually made its way to the island, everyone was eager to chip in and help.. unlike in many other parts of the planet..

It will never not be funny to me that TMIT thinks of himself as an intelligent critical thinker who is politically independent.

This report doesn't seem like a serious work of inquiry

Warned for trolling
oh my the derangement is strong here today.

Well thirty seconds of reading and this release looks like bullfeathers from the GoP...

Seriously man, you can't believe this horsehocky.

Members of the committee include MTG and Ronny Jackson.

And the following is worth knowing: https://thehill.com/homenews/house/5019735-democrats-push-back-on-republican-covid-19-report/

As a citizen, I'm entitled to a paper copy of the 500+ page report. I'll be stocked up on toilet paper for the next pandemic Republicans mismanage.

It is true that Fox, etc. did a lot to sew mistrust.

Any investigative report the GOP puts out nowadays is automatically bunk. This thing starts lying on the very first page. Pure, unadulterated propaganda, and now these horsehockyheads are fully in charge.

No 9/11 commission report this is.
This one is particularly amusing.

1) I will admit I have NOT read the whole report.
2) masks: didn't protect YOU from squat. Protected others from your spittle etc.
3) social distancing: nope, no science there.
4) shutdowns. uh-huh. again, what was the point? "get ahead of the curve?"
5) vaccine: um, aren't they supposed to prevent you from getting the whatevers? Not for Covids apparently. hrmm.
6) funny how when Trump called in the chinaflu all the lefties (dimocrats) lost their wee little minds. Oh wait, you mean it did come from there?
(lab or meat market makes no difference)
7) Important: do ANY of you have any idea on how you respond to a biological attack? (or a new bug such as covid?) I do. (go look up NBCW training)
Cause we didn't do what should have been done to stop/slow that thing.
8) NY: sending the infected into the senior homes was criminally stupid. (I know people who lost family directly due to that idiocy)
Those responsible need to be ... oh wait, he's a dem? oh right. Nothing happened.

sigh

2) masks: didn't protect YOU from squat. Protected others from your spittle etc.

From the mayo clinic:

Can face masks help slow the spread of the virus that causes coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)?

Yes. When used with measures such as getting vaccinated, hand-washing and physical distancing, wearing a face mask slows how quickly the virus that causes COVID-19 spreads.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends wearing masks if you choose to, and in specific places and situations.

source

It's depressing how many people buy into pseudoscience and misinformation so easily

2) masks: didn't protect YOU from squat. Protected others from your spittle etc.
This was the exact way that Fauci explained the benefit of mask wearing: "I wear a mask to protect you; you wear a mask to protect me."

About 40 seconds in:

What the pandemic taught us was the distressing percentage of the population that doesn't have that kind of of community-mindedness.

It's not even only that. Masks actually do protect you as well. It's just that the science has been buried under bs talking points and political crap throwing.

And I mean yeah, masks DO protect others from your slimy diseases more than they protect you. But they DO protect you.
