I thought that there should be a thread to post the lunatic, weird or outrageous food combinations that we stumble across!

All fast food is crazy.

Hyperpalletable is a good word for it. Supposedly it works on your brain similarly to cocaine.

And its marketed at kids like kids eating garbage is the natural order of things (who wouldn't want their developing child made out of chicken nuggets and ice cream?)

But yeah I guess a donut sandwich is another level of disgusting

Pancakes and sausage on a stick are actually pretty good. I like eating sausage with my pancakes anyway; may as well package them together!

I have had some unorthodox pizzas before, like egg, green pepper, and shrimp, or a fruit of the sea pizza with shrimp and octopus. Both were delicious.

I had the hot dog pizza. it's not very good, but it's honestly not crazy in the slightest. in Italy many pizzas have piece of sausage on 'em. korean "pizza" in general is honestly disgusting, I could never get into that stuff.

that hummus stuff though.. that should be an offense punishable by public humiliation. whoever had that idea should never touch food again, ever.

donut sandwich is pretty good, I made one myself recently. especially with fried chicken.

All fast food is crazy.

We're used to it. Some foods, however, go above and beyond.

fast food is kind of the wrong term, imho. it should be junk food.

a salad is fast food. so is a cheese platter with sourdough and grapes. so is a banana. or an instant miso soup. none of these are problematic.

fast food is just everything you can whip up very fast. junk food is essentially food that will damage your body if you overeat on it. it's food that violates almost all rules of nature in terms of caloric density and amounts of lab-built substances in it.

"hyperpallatable" is a supremely good choice of words, seeing as how eating a lot of junk food literally makes it impossible for your body to digest real food.

also, junk food is almost always made so that it doesn't take any effort to eat nor chew, that you can keep on snacking infinitely and that you can digest it as easy as possible (just a byproduct of lack of fiber, because the people who make junk food don't want you to ever feel full)

Curry mango hummus doesn't sound that bad. Mixing in a touch of India. I would try it (with low expectations).

I went to a Korean pizza parlor once and got a pizza that had thick potato wedges on it. It was pretty good.

Heart attack on a plate. Also by KFC.

I saw @yung.carl.jung mention eating squid that was still moving.

:vomit::vomit::vomit::vomit:

yeah I really wouldn't recommend that to anyone.. at least they weren't alive

I believe in korea they only really do it for show and special occasions, same with eating dog

Oh, when you said they were still moving, I thought you meant like they're alive and squirming around lol.

You cut the thing apart, but the motor reflexes take a while to die. So yes, the tentacles are still squirming around while the squid is dead. I hear they should be carefully chewed when eaten this way, as the arm can grasp and stick on the way down if inadequately masticated.

When I was in Japan the food at teppanyaki got cooked but the shrimp and abalone were alive and moving when placed on the grill. Very fresh. Poor little guys getting seared to death.

OMG so gross, I think I'll continue sticking to things that never had brains lol.

I think that'd bother me less than the squid.

Brains are terrifically nutritious!
