That is because you are listening to fox. I thought this was enlightening about what it is about, if a bit long.I know Fox is railing about it so maybe there's more to it than just acknowledging the role of racism past and present. I've heard reports this has translated into telling white school kids they should be ashamed of or apologize for being white.
Grade school meaning four to eleven years of age? If they are teaching this level of philosophy to kids that age I am impressed. My guess is that the parents may also have been watching fox, but they would probably be in a better position to answer.definitely longbut how is that being transmitted in grade school?
The clips I've seen were parents complaining to school boards
I'd hardly call 1930's Germany or the Caesarians conservatives (that is the reference you're making, correct?). They waged war on the aristocracy and bent them to their will. I think that's the most likely scenario rather than the US willingly becoming a progressive socialist or communist country without some much needed interventions at all levels of society and governance. They decided this already in the 1930s.
edit: I should specify, in the immediate sense, the Republicans decided this in the 1930s. But conservatives and right-wingers have understood for well over 2,000 years that democratic (majority-rule) governance threatens the prerogatives of the rich aristocrats.
I don't understand what it is you're trying to say?Already telling? We've been taught that we're a republic not a direct democracy along with the warnings against populism since forever. I had that in middle school social studies at 11-12.
Yet we still wind up with populist streaks. And in this year of inequality, of the march of law and order, we still need a streak of populism assclown or no. Educated, I mean accredited, or no.
I don't understand what it is you're trying to say?
rump has already sown the seeds of those same anti-elitist and anti-intellectual sentiments while equating those groups with "the left" and the Trumpers are already telling us, "We're a republic not a democracy."
If there is such a thing as a textbook defintion of "unholy marriage" it would be that of marxism and psychoanalysis. The anthropomorphication of artificially constructed power structures. That is because you are listening to fox. I thought this was enlightening about what it is about, if a bit long.
Yes, he was wrong. I got the wrong impression from your posts here. The entire point of that article is that Derrick Bell was wrong lol...did you not read past the first two sentences?
Not entirely. Before I saw Senethro's post I was going to post some quotes of people being very, very upset that they merely imagined that their things (slaves) were going to be taken away at some point in the future, but I figured that doing so would be pointless.
In any case, Lincoln still speaks to this question most elegantly:
So close to a 1 year necro. Ten Points from Gryffindor.Yes, he was wrong. I got the wrong impression from your posts here.
Well in fairness this is overflow from the 'why can't the left...' thread, which was going increasingly off topic due to crt posts, so replying on this thread was probably a good call.So close to a 1 year necro. Ten Points from Gryffindor.
Just like the former Zaire.By the way, the US is a democratic republic.
Wrong, see legal case in post #211. And this nice article.Critical race theory is a graduate level course offered at some law schools. No undergrad qualifies for the course. It us not taught in the K-12 public schools. Again, not taught in K-12. There are training materials that incorporate a small amount of basic CRT into much more detailed material concerning classroom diversity. All the junk happening at school board meetings is delusional and designed to undermine public education.
By the way, the US is a democratic republic.
Get to a hospital stat!Is the whole point of 'CRT' actually that racism *is* eradicable or am I having a stroke?
Wrong, see legal case in post #211. And this nice article.
As an educator who has written about the penetration of CRT into Australian schools, I have been shocked by how misleading and uninformed many of these articles are. It is of course true that CRT as an academic legal theory is generally taught only in higher education, but it is also clear to anyone familiar with CRT that its core tenets are being taught to children in many of America’s K–12 schools—and taught as if those tenets were facts. Examples include the ideas of systemic racism, white privilege, white fragility and the predatory white imagination, as well as the notions that all white people (including white children) are inherently and irredeemably oppressors of black people, that all black people should recognize that they are fundamentally victims—and that pervasive racism is a permanent, ineradicable characteristic of American society.
