Something like that seems wise. Privateers arent a problen in this mod as you get the much stronger frigate at the same time.

Sure, you get Frigates at the same time, but if you beeline your rivals don't. And if you blockade all their ports you can watch their science rate drop very quickly. It's one of the ways to beat Europe in tech for other civs, including Moors.

I started high. I'll playtest them tomorrow.

Played a game as the moors yesterday evening.

Got the first UHV done and 4 GPs in Cordoba. Did make some mistakes/non-optimal moves, so a fifth GP may be doable. The victory screen seems bugged, displaying 0 GP in Cordoba all the time.

I think the 3rd UHV can not be done. I had astronomy and military science in ~1640. As said before I did not play flawless, so it can definitly be reached earlier. But you only get 30 gold per caravel, 50 (?) per galleon. There is no way to make 5000 gold until 1650 this way.

At least in my game this was correct. Nobody else had researched military science by this time. So my corsairs had an easy time.

I think another problem could be that no unit upgrades to Corsairs/Privateers, so you can only start building them after researching the required techs.

Still I feel that making them available with Astro might be better. Your opponents will most likely research it around the same time as you, giving them str4-ships that stand a moderate chance of surviving when stacked while you get your ships at the time when ships play their most important role.

Made a 2nd try for the moors UHV.

I did get 5 GP by 1300, but failed the first UHV. To achieve both may be possible, but very difficult. Hard to built infrastructure for specialists in Cordoba and Marakus and units/settlers for the 1st UHV.

One of the main reasons for failing the first UHV was that Tunis (and independent Taraburs) swaped to Eqypt as it respawned in 1000 AD. Tunis is in the Moors core and should not flip to Egypt.

Bug:
And Portugal did not get any iron after its spwan in Lusitania (with the last SVN).

Yes, I get this error after cleanup command, it even says "cleanup failed".
Are any of your folders marked with a yellow/red symbol? If so, open them until you find the file with this symbol, delete it and update again.

In past the 5 GP was possible because you have a 2/3 UHV golden age in 1200, that is a +100% GP rate boost. Now it is harder.

Yep, I failed to take that into account. Expect some adjustments.

You may know that but... Babylonia suffers a tech penalty because they have more techs at start,
(51 turns to research writing on Monarch) by the time greek spawns it seems there are no penalty but China sometimes research writing before you.

New commit:
- better panel adjustment in the civic selection screen
- discouraged Byzantium from settling Chersonesos
- adjusted Moorish/Spanish starting units
- added additional information to the economic growth stability display
- only one embassy is displayed in the tech splash window

I've committed a fix for the crash.

What exactly are the unit changes?

Another commit: I've re-enabled the mechanic responsible for the crash (division by zero ...).

What exactly are the unit changes?
Spain only receives additional Knights against the AI, the Moors start with an additional Horse Archer, Spearman and Trireme.

Thanks for the crash fix. Now i can play again. I was going to abstinence :D

No responsible dealer would allow his clients to get off the drug ;)

Yes, thank you. That's exactly what I did before even reading this. "Rurales" art was giving me the trouble.

It fits what we know of Leoreth so far.
