Not sure what is going on here. The fact that rainforest is not removed on being improved is problematic in general, I think. If I have time, I will look at it today.

Thank you. There's one more annoyance:

I just discovered that I am unable to conquer Madras directly as well. Britain conquered Hyderabad few turns after my failed attempt to conquer it and left Madras very weakly defended (only by GP and some naval units). Then I just found out I have to be at war with India (who's having some DPacts) just to gain access to that tile to conquer Hyderabad, which is necessary to gain access to either 1N or 1NE of Madras because everywhere else are rainforests.

New commit:
- impassable terrain features can be entered if improved
- improved terrain features do not provide defense bonuses

Would that include forts? Would be weird if building a fort on a jungle tile resulted in a decreased defensive bonus. Maybe forts should just be buffed to 50% if they don't stack on hills/forest/jungle bonuses any more.

I don't know how you re-code the AI but this is indeed amazing:

Never seen something like that before in my 4 years or so of RFC gaming. Awesome

Should I post this in OMG thread instead? hahahaha ._.

That's normal AI behaviour. :p

Does a road count as improved? If so, does this apply to jungles as well in which case?
No, roads don't count as improvements.

Didn't consider that. I definitely don't want forts to enable access to all jungle tiles.

I think the best solution is to apply the effect to forts as well, buff their defense to 50% and remove the ability to build them on jungle.

You can attack them from the sea. The first thing I do as Tipu Sultan is to train Tamil UU.

Another Chinese game. Well, the main issue is to avoid tech leading penalty, either by wait or gift tech.

Not really about any recent updates but doesn't Persia seem a bit too strong now? This started happening after that large Persian buff a while ago but I keep seeing Persia survive the Seljuks over and over.

Meanwhile Arabia, who is supposed to conquer Persia, always collapses without expanding too much. Seems like Arabia and Persia flipped with Arabia being weak and Persia strong. I've seen probably 1 Arabia in the last few weeks that was strong/surviving past it's historical date. Often times they collapse right after the Seljuks.

I don't know if this was intentional or not just pointing it out

Is the extra tech penalty during the dark ages removed? I think it ended 600 AD earlier?

Persia has large tech buff.

Meanwhile, India is very weak now. Without Varanasi, they tend to have only 4-5 cities around turn 150.

Out of the topic, youtien, may I ask you what's your strategy of India game at Emperor or Paragon now? I feel it nearly impossible to develop in Emperor.

I'll found Darjeeling on Tea(1E from Patna), Bhopal on plain hill 3S from Delhi, and Lahore. Harass Babylon by archer (and flipped chariot if lucky), research iron working, Oracle for metal casting as trading chip -- under monarch. In emperor it is too difficult, your tech value too low.

I'm trying to research Alphabet by self and then steal techs from Persia and China, but find it also too slow to research it in Emperor

What you need is iron working. Buy you polytheism and priesthood, Oracle metal casting, meanwhile you can build swordsmen to invade Persia.

This might just be the most fantastic and devious piece of AI I have ever seen.

Robert Clive would be proud.
