It would only be 50 cents more to make it in the US? I find that hard to believe.

Well I'm assuming that's about assembling it in the US not completely making it here. Take something like an iPhone, the majority of the cost goes to Germany and Japan due to the high wages there but they make the best quality parts.

I like that California has a bigger GDP than Russia. :p

I assume that the percentage is of people who answered "yes" ?

Spoiler religion graph :

It's interesting how the decline is not universal; one-third of countries had an increase in
their percentage of religious people. I wonder if some of that had to do with the continuing effects of the fall of communism.

And there's also an apparent resurgence of Lutheranism up there in Finland as well.

In 1991 entire former East Germany (excluding West Berlin from East Germany, of course) had smaller GDP than Hesse:

Development of GDP (PPP) per capita in Poland (Polska) and in Ukraine (Ukraina) from 1990 to 2012:

Similar comparison between Belarus and Poland would be even more shocking, as Belarus was richer than Poland in ca. 1989-1991.

Today Polish GDP per capita is about 3 or more times higher than Ukrainian and about 2 or more times higher than Belarusian.

And in period 1989 - 1991 it all started with Ukrainian GDP per capita being equal to Polish and Belarusian being higher than Polish.

And here is GDP annual growth speed in period 1990 - 2012:

Polska - Poland
Ukraina - Ukraine
Świat - World

Congrats on becoming a moderator Takhisis.

Interesting, thank you Domen. It makes me wonder why so many East Germans want to go back to the past. That said I was in Czechoslovakia a few years after they finally became free. I went through the main airport in Prague. It was like the little airport in Eugene Oregon I'd left from, with one difference. There were showers and on the way in a lady offered me a towel. I was surprised and reached for my wallet. She gave me a look...the towel was free, why would I think otherwise? So if you liked free towels communism is just the thing. I wonder what other practical stuff is gone with the Wall?

4th on that list... I should really hurry up and graduate :p
