What's the blob of humanity among the desolation up north?

Good question...
There is Katherine and Tindal AFB but Catherine has only a population of about 6000 people (while being the forth largest city in the Northern Territory)

It's Katherine. The Statistical Area geography in use there seemingly has larger borders than the much smaller but denser Alice Springs one. You cab also see Mt Isa covering a big area. These aren't municipal boundaries, they're a statistical geography.

If anyone is wondering to which investment bank to send their CV:

That's revenue per all employees, so obviously the average employee takes home less than those nearly 4 million dollars. But it is estimated that the average compensation of investment professionals at Pimco is 7 million dollars per year. And Bill Gross, former chief investor there, made the unbelievable amount of $290 million dollars last year - about as much as the salaries of the next 20 highest paid financial CEOs, combined.

I can't see why Organic Chemistry, Polymers and Material science engineering are as far stretched as Archeology, Religion and Law....
In the end it's a good example what happens when you try to plot too many things in one graph....

Pimpco, got it, thanks!

Btw what is Catherine and why is it there?

Hahahahahaha

I'm not sure why that's laughable.

It's an interesting discrepancy. I don't really know what the explanation for it is. Unless it's simply due to the long tradition of American religiosity.

:goodjob: :)

I guess more seriously it's a failure of the educational system. I mean it's not like god is incompatible with evolution or the big bang...

Yes, education of course. But I don't get the impression that the US educational system is very different from that of the UK. I think they both hover around the indifferent middle ground on the international scale.
