I expected Germany to have more, actually. Iirc after ww2 for some decades it was sort of free-for-all for killers in many regions there (including west Berlin of course).

As for Japan and Italy: is that including mafia/yakuza hitmen?

(not that i can verify if even in those cylindrical maps the positions are based on something accurate, but what is the point of having that arbitrary symmetry point, moreso keeping it "the same" for a universe as it is for anything else there up to and including our unimportant speck of a planet which can surely rotate to hell and back and still fit in any such forced perspective? ).

Curiously, some of the lowest countries in terms of costs of living are also, coincidentally, the countries that are also poor as hell.

it's about cost of human labor, which varies between countries while most other costs stay the same. if you are rich, your labor is pricy. if you are poor, it's cheap.

i think you'll also find that countries with higher inequality have lower costs of living. it's mostly about how rich/poor people are that sell their goods on a local market, which is typically the lower class.

another factor is land price, which is geography and pop density related.

One of my layovers in late 2013 went through Atlanta. I was warned: Watch out, this airport is like the largest in the world or something. I got off the plane though - and saw my connecting gate right there in front of me. It was pretty sweet. All hail Atlanta

I went there alone with the tender age of 16 - no problems and I felt soo mature and independent. And for some reason I remember a very sweet black voluptuous woman selling me a tasty sandwich. Hail! Hail!

@Kyriakos, sorry, didn't see the astronomy post (interesting too), was referring to the serial killer post.

I suppose they count/feature organised crime more in some places (Italy with the mafia and terrorist groups in the past, and Japan with the yakuza), and in others there are possibly less stats, although iirc some list i once saw had few euro countries with more than single-digit identified as serial killers.
