Well, it's an ice thought, certainly.

habitat range of wildcats (around 5 subspecies)

they used to be more extensive in europe, including in england and ireland (so the ones in scotland aren't introduced, but are like a remnant). Not entierly sure why they've dissapeared so much there

Abnormal posturing is caused by brain injury that causes involuntary muscle movement, constituting a severe medical emergency. There are two important types:

Decorticate.PNG

Decorticate posturing is typically caused by damage to the forebrain and midbrain.
-flexing of elbows, wrists, and fingers
-extension of legs
-feet turned inward

Decerebrate.jpg

Decerebrate posturing results from damage to the brain stem.
-extension of arms and legs
-head arched back
-patient is rigid throughout

" It is impossible for a decerebrated individual to experience pain, pleasure, memory, dreams, or thoughts of any kind"

Dietary Reference Intakes are nutritional levels promulgated by the US National Academies. DRIs are primarily used in the US and Canada.
-Estimated Average Requirements (EARs) meet 50% of the population's needs.
-Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDAs) meet 97.5% (2 standard deviations) of the population's needs.
-Upper Levels (UL) are high intakes that cause no complications in the population.

The graph on the left is Democrats polled. The graph on the right is Republicans polled.

This suggests that Democrats are dumber than Republicans since all media is biased.

So much space wasted... Cant they build parking lots or something?

Was that a sly reference to the last season of Fargo?
If so, I think I found where Varga is now. (Some men might not see him, though.)

Even the wire services like AP?

Relation between mortality and drinking. In this case a drink is defined as beer: 12 ounce bottles or cans (units very variable depending on strength), wine (5 ounce glasses, 2 units at 14%), and liquor (1.5 ounce shots, 1.7 units at 40%). So they say that the break-even point for drinking, where the risk is equal to being teetotal, is 4 drinks a day, or 51.8 units per week (assuming every 4 drinks were 2 wines and 2 spirits). This is loads higher than current recommendations in the UK at least.

Full paper here.

I drink much less than 4 drinks per day on average, but that's because most days I have one, two, or no drinks, some days I binge.

I think 4 2 unit drinks a day is a lot. I quite like this papers conclusions, as I like to drink more than I should, but I am a little sceptical about it. There is a well recognised feature of this data where there is a significant number of recovering alcoholics who answer zero to "how much do you drink", and they have a raised risk of death because of past behaviour. They have been asking people since 1998, but perhaps this effect goes back further than this.

Here a similar study on alcohol published in the Lancet of April this year based on 600,000 people in 19 developed countries.
The nutshell summary is that you lose half an hour of your life expectancy per glass of alcohol if you are 40 (and your body becomes less able to deal with alcohol from stacked ageing detoriation)
But the effect is not bigger than so many other life style choices like smoking, bad food or no exercise, etc.
And you can easily compensate a couple of glasses a day by positive life style choices (according to other studies).
Milk Thistle does compensate a lot as well.

Low-risk limits recommended for alcohol consumption vary substantially across different national guidelines. To define thresholds associated with lowest risk for all-cause mortality and cardiovascular disease, we studied individual-participant data from 599 912 current drinkers without previous cardiovascular disease.

Methods
We did a combined analysis of individual-participant data from three large-scale data sources in 19 high-income countries (the Emerging Risk Factors Collaboration, EPIC-CVD, and the UK Biobank). We characterised dose–response associations and calculated hazard ratios (HRs) per 100 g per week of alcohol (12·5 units per week) across 83 prospective studies, adjusting at least for study or centre, age, sex, smoking, and diabetes.

The cardiovascular risk probably doesn't account for the ~500 calories per day 4 drinks has and potential excess weight from that. I'm guessing it assumes this in otherwise fit people (healthy bmi, exercise regularly etc). Drinking 4 drinks a day is bad from that perspective. Although if you compare it to very unhealthy food, it's like one candy bar. But no one would recommend eating a candy bar every day either.
