DMI VII - Team BtS

Nobody seem to have noticed this beautiful cow/spices/river passage to Washy south of St Petersburg :) Still, it's pretty far away and we may want to settle closer sites first.

As for the circumnavigation, it's doable to enhance an AI map visibility through the WB. I think it's what went here - an AI had maybe a tile or two to discover with a WB to get the circum.

Refar

the one he's on

it'l give us 1 gold when mined

Turn 60 - 1600 BC

On the inherited turn i whip Barracks in Moscow.

Next will be Worker. Mmed the tiles from cottages to hammers to maximize overflow and as we are Expansive. I wish we had one more mine. Worker ETA 4 Turns.

I also deleted the "American Archer" Sign. I think the Guy is gone by now :D

Turn 61

:wow: :dubious: :faint:

I think it's one of the earliest oracles i have seen i a while.

I save and Post. While the immediate effect it has on my Turnset is not too big, it's still something the team for sure want to know, as we had plans on our own with the oracle.

-----

I will continue the Turnset a bit later, but meanwhile we can perhaps talk about if and how it affects our tech path.

I'm guiltless of all of this... I didn't enhance any tiles at all, the less for the AI. What you're experiencing is just the stronger focus of the BtS AI on some wonders...same for the circuumnav, I didn't give sight to the AI. But as I know the map it is not that surprising...

Oracle fell as if we were playing pre-3.13 BtS.
Agreed on the AP win, not sure we'll make it as the Oracle owner has the prophet points asap, making Theo a possible bulb for him.

Methinks me got skipped between Ad Hoc and Refar?

Not a problem, but I'd like to have a chance after Refar, so I'm mentioning it.

I strongly suspected Oracle would be gone before we got to it when I saw how early each of the first three religions fell.

My opinion on current strategy: build up for Hatty, tech to Alpha while killing her, trade with Americans while she's still alive. I'm still not a big fan of trying to grab the AP, personally.

My fault bindamel,

i agree with taking down hatty asap. i think the AP may be beyond us now.

I must admit i though immy may have been playing, i have never seen a grassland floodplain, but then a six:food: gifthorse shouldn't be laughed at.

Uh... Sorry

I just read ad Hocs "Batter Up" and did not checked with the roster.

Also for the delay...

Anyway...

We are teching Writing now. I think Next Math could be handy: Prereq for Constr and Cats - in case we run into trouble against hatty.

As we only have vanilla LH as oponents, I think I know who is out there:
Hatty
Wash
KK
Mansa ( the oracle guy .... typical of him: chop Oracle and beeline Lib )
Izzy ( Religions, dude.... )
Mistery civ

Maths is fine by me

Sorry about the delay. I had one of those Days when you wish you were somewhere else... And it lasted all weekend

Turns 61 - 75 - Until 1000 BC (I hope i made no mistake about we are playing 15 turns sets - i looked at the previous saves to see how long the sets were.)

Turn 61 Worker starts roading towards St.Petersburg and Copper. I pull the Scout back to St.Pet. - i want him to go and take a look at Hatty's land.

Turn 65 Moskow is done With Worker and starts on a Warrior. The New Worker will help roading for now. St.Pet. is done with the Monument. I Start Granary with the intention to whip it next Turn.

Turn 67 Granary done in St.Pete. and work starts on Barracks. We want to have well trained Axes, once we got those Copper deposites hooked up.
WRITING is done, i set research to Math.

Turn 68 Warrior done in Moskow. I set to Library. Next turn will be a good time to whip. The Worker chopes the Riverside Hill, so the 2 Pop Whip will be enought. I think i dont need to save this one for the Oracle now. Also the mine here will come very handy.

Turnb 69 Library Whiped at 2 Pop, regrow to size 3 next turn, To 4 after 2 more turns.

Turn 70 Library done in Moskow. Start another warrior. Feeling a bit silly building them a couple of turns before cooper is online. But i want Moskow to regrow, so no Worker/Settler and i am scared of barbs - i already seen one Ugly Dude with a HUUUUGE Club S of Moskow.

Open Boarders with Hatty and send the Scout in. We want to take a good look at our future cities.

Turn 72 Moskow is back at size 4, so i mm to slow donw the growth.

Turn 74 The Great Wall is completed IAFAL
Hatty Pops Jean D'Arc (Prophet). She seems to be running priests in those Obelisks of hers.

Turn 75 Warrior done in Moskow. I preliminary set another Warrior, but no hammer are in it yet, so changing the build is no problem.

Notes:
--I send Both workers to St.Pete. and for now stacked them on Copper - Mine in two Turns. I wanted the Copper ASAP and i also think that it will be good to give St.Pete a couple of good tiles to work fast. Moskow has enought improvet tiles for just now.
--There are two Barb warriors closing in on Moskow. I sent a warrior toward each one, hoping on beeing attacked in defensive terrain.
--The Whip- in Moskow will go away in 5 turns. So in 4 Turms would be a good moment for a 2 Pop Whip (The Food bar should be just right as well, but better check it)
--From the Two cottages near Moskow the one S is 2 turns from Village - in case you need to work just one. Another one needs a couple more turns.

The map:

Hattys cities - NW from Thebes is Memphis. NE Heliopolis.
She has no Copper and No Horses, so just Archers for Egypt :D

PS - Forgot to mention in the Report: I think Washi settled somewhere around the Spices (There are more spices and alos Corn a bit S - for some reason the Markers got not displayed.). I seen a Axeman escorted Settler, before i ordered the Scout to Egypt.

The Save:
http://forums.civfanatics.com/uploads/57778/DMI_VII_BC-1000.CivBeyondSwordSave

Sorry for "skiping" you and the wait Bindamel. Have Fun :D

The game is speeding up :)

Did Harry build a shrine (well did she have a religion first of all) ?

Should we go axing, it's time to move pretty soon. Otherwise, it is time to continue settling the land.

She has no religion and did not used the Prophet yet - our scuout is neat Thebes Right now and can see Jean.

Btw. Hatty is incredible soft right now - 4 archers in 3 cities - will become a couple more until be are ready to move, but i think as well - we should axe her fast.

Copper is ETA 2 Turns, Math in 5 in case we want to chop.

Hatty has 4 cities ( one is not on map, but it is 3 E of the oasis in our cooper town ) and a terrible dotmapping ( the pigclamwine city is just hedious, as well as the crab one ). In max we should keep capitol and double clam city and raze the rest.....

Do we already have AH ( can't check the save ATM ) ? If we have , the lack of horses in Hatty's land is a good sign. If not , don't forget the spear....

In the end it looks that the place we choose for 2nd city was the best one.... besides catching cooper, also blocks both Hatty and Wash :goodjob:

Good point with the 4 city. I was wondering why Thebes culture boarders do look that strange, but did not think of a 'invisible' city.

If we capture the city with the AP, will it still allow votes? I've never tried this but if we aren't able to build AP before the mystery oracle civ (), taking it would probably still be a faster win than the conquest or domination that vanilla/warlords will probably (make that definitely ;) ) go for.
