:p

pffffbbbbtt!

Okay, I'm taking it. Will play ASAP, at latest tomorrow.

 • Imhotep << UP NOW
 • pholkherina << JUST PLAYED
 • Ozbenno << OOP until his PC is fixed
 • Xenoborg
 • Meatbuster
 • ssmage
 • Monkeyfinger << ON DECK

Played 14 turns. The good news: 3 more, and we're ready to roll! :D

Right into the set Cardith wanted OB. I declined.

As the Luchuirp are now friendly with us I tried asking the for some generosity.

And generous they were...W00t!

And a Great Commander was born. As we can't use him on one of our Mercurian units I simply used him for a GA, dropping the ETA of the Gate by 4 turns.

Smelting came in. We have no Iron, but the Luchuirp have two sources. Sadly they are not even close to knowing the techs...

Honor came in. Yes, you read right. We founded a second religion. The plan...

...is to spread it to our soon-to-be Mercurian capital (already done) ...

...switch the Mercurians to Empyrean, get Chalid and go on a rampage! :D

I also made a sweet trade with Garrim.

Cardith got bold - I told him where to stick it.

KotE was the last tech in my set. I set research to Religious Law, for obvious reasons.

Monkeyfinger, it's all yours. Make us Mercurians proud! :)

Empyrean related stuff

uh

I'd call you out for doing that in an SG titled "code of junil" except that you're kind of running the show, so... yeah. It feels contrary to the goals (though very effective), but you've laid the foundations already and I'd feel bad about wasting them.

Got the save, in any event.

Well, Empyrean is just another, less strict way of the principles the Order stands for. And for an Angel that breaks the Compact the Order doesn't fit that well anyway...

Basium.... converting to the religion of moderation and discussion. This is the guy who smashed two guys' heads in because they unintentionally used demon summoning while trying to join him.

So... out.... of... character....

What happened to:

1) We must found Order
2) We must build the Code of Junil
3) We must build the Mercurian Gate in the city that holds the Code of Junil
?

EDIT:
Ok, I guess you did all that :D
It doesn't say anything about adopting the Order. But still...

Joke's on you. Empyrian is actually the religion of wrecking other nations to pieces. Why else would they have Chalid and Blinding Light? ;)

The last significant thing our mortal allies did was give Charadon the secrets of Calendar in exchange for his world map.

This revealed fields of cotton, dyes, and a deposit of iron. Splendid spoils...

Hark! We, the holy instruments of justice, the mercurians, have set foot on Erebus! The infernals have yet to show their faces, and we will take whatever measures are necessary to make sure that doesn't change... or if it does, it only does so for mere days. The forces of hell can only enter in a very small group, and the larger and more powerful we are by that date, the better.

Alas, our start is rough and chaotic, as our society rearranges itself into a form that fits erebus.

DMI14-3-B.jpg

To aid us, the archangel Sabathiel gifts us with all the spare resources he has. In return, we grant him full access to the rich cache of iron we brought with us to the mortal world. After outfitting all our troops with iron arms, Sabathiel is allowed to do the same. The deposit of iron in Doviello lands will provide us all the iron we need. We research the methods needed to mine and refine it en masse.

Yes, Charadon pays lip service to Junil, but his ways are as savage and barbaric as ever, while most of his people still live as wild animals. Those exceptions among them who saw the way of light are the lucky ones, the ones who will serve us as angels. The rest... well, preparing for the forces of hell is dirty business, and we do it gladly.

A few years after our declaration of war, Valledia the even comes to our aid and sends a token force.

DMI14-3-D.jpg

Insulting us by pretending that force was enough will not go unpunished.

I was given control of the overcouncil. My first step towards promoting unity was to standardize currency between our empires.

DMI14-3-E.jpg

We turned our back on Junil. Bound by the compact and agares knows how many other byzantine laws as he is, we deem him unworthy of our worship and unable to do what needs to be done. We are warriors of the light, and as such, turn to the appropriate god. Hopefully, by doing this, we will attract a true holy warrior to our cause: Chalid. No force of evil can stand before his might.

20 years after we set foot on Erebus, the heart of the Doviello empire is ripped out!

DMI14-3-F.jpg

Sadly, they still live on in the cities they captured from the soft, weak Kuriotate empire. That's the problem with these ideas of "good" mortals have... they make you unable to do anything when evil knocks at your door and seeks to push you out, and solidify. Hopefully, the Bannor can root out the remainder of the Doviello infestation. With the brave and incredibly fast Valin at the helm of their army, it should be easy for them. I look forward to the day when he's reborn as one of us...

Protip of the day: To be sure we can build a hero, wonder, or whatnot, we have to be the one to finish researching the right tech, not Sabathiel. The trick is to get within a couple turns of finishing the tech...

DMI14-3-C.jpg

...then tell Sabathiel to research something else. Something that takes a bit of time. You do this by picking "let's discuss something else" on the diplomacy menu, followed by "we would like you to research..."

Recommended tech path for the next set is math -> engineering, for the godly guild of hammers wonder and the road bonus. Our current military is overwhelming enough, we can put off research that boosts it for a few turns.

Basium's all drilled up and can take blitz with his next level.

Next best target is... eh. Whoever you guys want. Just be cognizant that FoL guys don't turn into angels.

Could we start having lone wolf fill in for skips instead of just, well, skipping over all of them?

Great turns Monkeyfinger! And a really nice report! :) Yes, I think Lone Wolf should play the next set. Meatbuster after him.

Imhotep

Edit: One more thing™ for our FfH noobs: Be careful with our Basium hero. If he is killed we lose all our traits.

Ok, I'll play tomorrow. What are our plans for the next set? Shall we finish off Charadon? Shall we attack Valledia for her secret dealings with necromancers and demons to advance her political goals? Shall we attack the Luchuirp for refusing to tell us about the secrets of golems? Shall we just buildup?

Lurking Comment: Attacking Valledia will give no angels as she is following the FoL religion, and even though Garrim is following Order, I do not believe that Golems get reborn. Finishing off the Doviello and then building up a force of Ecclestials to suicide and turn into Angels by suiciding them on Valledia might be wise.
