IHT Well, to be honest, I dont like the looks of this. We only have three small cities, and we wont be able to be choosy about spots very soon. Well be settling big flip risks before its all said and done.
That said, I see four or five spots I like, but with the English running around, I expect them to ruin two spots in one fell swoop.
Anyhow
.
Since we only need one food in the bin, I swap tiles to grab a couple extra shields.
IT Surprise surprise. Newcastle is founded. I underestimated the English, they screwed up three spots I was looking at.
2110 bc (1) Madras curragh -> curragh. England starts ToA.
2070 bc (2) Nada
2030 bc (3) Dutch start ToA. Persians build Hamadan in the north.
1990 bc (4) English build Oxford on the coastal river tile to the east. Both Dutch and English have Writing, two fer is possible with Persians, but we cant buy Writing! Still doubtful.
1950 bc (5) Delhi settler -> settler

Now, where to put it?
1910 bc (6) Madras curragh -> curragh. Still no dice on writing. With only four turns left on it, Im not even checking anymore.
1870 bc (7) Liverpool founded, one more spot gone (though that was a last resort)
1830 bc (8) Bangalore founded. Im getting
really annoyed with the amount of open space Bubba is finding up north.
1790 bc (9) Bombay temple -> warrior. GAH!!! With one turn left on our research, the Persians get Writing!!
1750 bc (10) Writing comes in, start on lit. Delhi settler -> settler.
Recap: Things are looking pretty grim here guys. The settler is headed for the grass NW of the tobacco. No one has philo, but the best we can do is 23 turns. There is a TON of open land to the north, but the stupid Persians decided to expand towards us rather than away. Theyre going to be a behemoth very soon. Now that the land around us is essentially gone, they can expand north basically unimpeded.
