Dominion NES

We thank the Abyssians for their continued friendship.
Long-term allies you can trust are valuable indeed.

I don't think that the Mictlan really need all that much help against the Marignon, they seem to have that war mostly taken care of.

So now there are two alliances, me and T_F and Immac and Circuit, so where will Seon go? Maybe he'll ally with ermor and Jotunheim, they will need allies soon.

Our understanding is that the Shinuyama and Ashnoc alliance should also include the Vanir as they are fighting the same enemy as you. I find it curious that you did not include your most recent ally amongst your list of friends.

Mictlan.

That's because they were waiting for my reply;). (Darn time zones)

You know, I actually can't decide between sticking with Eastern people or the southern. Perhaps I shall be friends with both.

Certainly one's association with some nations does not immediately mean you have to be enemies with another.
For example, i trade with both the eastern powers and with the Lanka and Jutenheim. It doesn't mean i am a military partner to either party.
So i think being friends with everyone is certainly a valid strategy.

I'd say. Part of what wond up crippiling Ulm was their Isolationist views.

Well, that and they thought the province they were attacking was undefended when it was actually pretty well defended.

@diamondeye: I think there is still something you can do, if only for a few updates. The idea came from what one of my friends would do to be a cruel during multiplayer games of Starcraft. You should start moving your army in a circle, to 18 then 22 then back to 21. If they can't catch you they can't kill you. Of course once they set a trap you're screwed but it'd be pretty funny while it lasted.

To all Pretenders: Arshnoc's former offer of sanctuary still is open. Our borders are still open for those who have lost their lands and titles. All previous crimes against humanity, indeed any form of life, will be forgiven if you swear to abide by the three rules. The rules have been previously listed and haven't changed significantly since then.

By the way Kyzarc, I have a question about that. Ulm's pretender is a gigantic monolith. How does that work out with the customs officials? :p

One word: Fedex.

I can just see my soldiers chasing a white van with blue and green letters written on the side XD

Neither rain nor snow nor dead of night can stop the m-HOLY CRAP, IS THAT A GIANT SNAKE?!?!?

Giant FLYING snake that casts magic. Thank you

I had no illusion of Mictlan proper being weak. On the contrary. My spies had told me more or less how many soldiers you had (the update before I attacked, that is) and how many fleets.

I was just under-estimating magic, which, in my opinion, seems to be wicked-good considering the relatively low price of the casters.

Actually if I remember well, you spied 1 turn, prepared yoru invasion on next turn and attacked next, which means you could have had more up to date information.
However yes you underestimated magic and were unlucky that Mictlan
1) summoned lots of stuff in that province on this same turn
2) had just reached research levels that made its battlefield magic very efficient
I think underestimating magic is quite widespread however. Because low level research allows you to do very little, you don't realise that higher levels can be very deadly. Although Ermor has been an example of strong magic being strong, and recently Jotunheim too in a different way (Magni wouldn't be that much of a threat if he wasn't equipped the way he is).

I would agree entirely with your assessment on magic. For examples; I can buy a wizard in one of my provinces for 24g, 8 gpt. The next turn that wizard can summon enough animal-type creatures to be worth at least 3 footmen, and if that province is attacked then there would be the animals defending it as melee fighters, and a wizard casting evocation spells, providing ranged support worth at least 2 archer units. And he can continue to summon animals continuously without any increase in upkeep and a paltry amount of mana gems.

A question for everyone; what are your magic research levels near? I have 3 at 2 and the rest at 1.

Yeah, magic is the way to win this game. (I have just recently figured that out.)

I've only got 2 in 1 and 1 in 3, but I haven't been focusing on it for very long.
