RE: shock..... It is not like Muslims got World's permission to invade Iran! Nothing on this planet can be done without Big Guys! It is not even a Sunni country, by the way! And they are Pleased with us. Unfortunately there is no Syria in our game, or they would be pleased with us as well...

So everyone needs the world's permission before they do anything? Did you ask the world's permission to basically steal oil from Iran before their wells went out of commission? It makes us wonder if maybe the Russians are using the Security Council for their own benefits, since the Iranian Dictator would sell the Russians oil at a large discount while the Confederacy will only trade its resources among ourselves.
How come there wasn't a UN resolution to force North Korea to not invade Iran? The Chinese leader could easily take better control of their vassal. In February the Koreans were marching on Iran, but there was no UN Security Council Meeting to stop the war then. Suddenly the Muslims get involved and there needs to be a resolution to stop the war???
This whole thing just smells fishy to us and again proves what a farce the UN is... The Secretary General only acts with his own countries best interest in mind...

News Flash: The Muslim Confederacy would urge the Chinese and American leaders to withhold casting their vote in the UN Security Council until we have finished preparing a formal announcement which will come within a couple of hours. Tune into any major Muslim TV network in about an hour for some important information as you consider the Draft Resolution proposed by Mr. Putin.

The following speech from an unknown representative of the Muslim Confederacy was broadcast on all major Muslim TV networks and picked up throughout the world.

In that meeting he proposed a resolution which would force our Muslim Confederacy to negotiate peace with Mr. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the totalitarian leader of Iran, backed by a threat of force from the nations of the Security Council.
As you know, the Confederacy's international policy... does not exist. We believe in each nation's right to isolation if they so choose and have chosen that path with all of our states. While we begrudgingly have participated in the United Nations through our vote for Mr. Putin, we believe the UN itself is a flawed and corrupt political structure through which the international agendas of the world powers can be more easily pushed on the smaller, less powerful nations of the world, which includes those which are a part of our Confederacy. This theory is obviously proved through the Security Council, whereby only the world powers may have a vote and their agenda is backed by their military. We would remind Mr. Putin that his election as Secretary General was made primarily through the Confederacy's combined vote in his favor. This is a vote which can easily be redacted in the next election.
Your leaders of this Confederacy question the motives behind Mr. Putin's proposed resolution. It is well known that Mr. Ahmadinejad was trading oil to the Russians at a discounted price and has been oddly friendly towards them, even though he hates most of the rest of the world. While we do not know what was exchanged for the oil, we must assume the exchange involved some sort of consideration in support of their war with North Korea and China. Recently the Iranian oil reserves were depleted or destroyed, which forced Russia into a less accomodating trade for oil. We can't help but think that Mr. Putin wants to end the wars with Iran to keep Mr. Ahmadinejad in power so that when the oil derricks are rebuilt, the Russians can again get a friendly discount.
We would remind all free Muslims and the world that our attacks on Iran were for a good cause - to spread freedom for the majority of the people of Iran. These people are Muslims and wish to be free and have their voice heard like they are in the Confederacy. The intentions behind our invasion are well documented. Our attack was not a surprise - We broadcasted our intentions in advance and even attempted to communicate with Mr. Ahmadinejad prior to resorting to war. Mr. Ahmadinejad refused to end his war with North Korea, and in doing so has further drawn a foreign culture into the Muslim world. Within a month, Tehran will be occupied by North Korean military and our citizens will be looked down upon as a second class, much like the Muslims in Israel and Iraq. Even when the time came to resort to violence, we sent warning to all Iranian citizens in order to save lives. Saudi and Pakistani shelters are packed with displaced free Muslim citizens from Iran. We honored the dead Muslim soldiers who died in the attack with a naval funeral pire, as is our custom, even if they were misguided in life. To believe that this war has been or will be anything but humane for any citizens would be simply wrong.
The European Union has already voted Nea to this resolution, and for that we thank them. They have shown they are not corrupt and are at least attempting to follow the true purpose of the United Nations. We remind you that Mr. Putin is attempting to keep a dictator in power with this resolution. He says he working for peace, yet he wishes to see a maniacal dictator in power. Again - could the reason be cheap oil? The EU representative Sir E. Clipse expressed it best when he said, "Can you imagine one day this region free of War? Well it could mean war is needed to get the benefit. Let us not forget the UN Security Council is proposing War to stop a War, Who is really to say which is the right?"
We would remind our people and the world that the Security Council is proposing a resolution which attempts to end a small war to remove a dictator with a much larger war involving many nations. This would result in much more bloodshed and death for soldiers around the world. We hate to see our own Muslim husbands, fathers, sons and brothers die in war, however their deaths are for the greater good. We can't imagine the families of soldiers of the world powers would want to see their men die in a silly war to back a UN resolution which would keep a dictator in power. Because we can assure you, if this resolution passes, the Confederacy will not simply lay down their arms and allow Iran to have its free citizens ruled by an oppressive dictator. Should the resolution pass and the world powers choose to back it with their military there will be war. And there will be blood spilled.
But fear not! For the Muslim Confederacy was created for just this purpose - to stand when a stand needs to be made against those world powers who would bully the smaller nations of the world. And we can assure you, our free citizens, and leaders of nations around the world, that we will fight and defend ourselves. We will not simply roll over against the threat of force. Our Muslim Freedom Forces are well trained and prepared to do whatever is necessary to defend our lands. As if on Que a three large screens center stage light up, the one on the Left displaying news Footage of Fighting and a caption China invades Iran, the one on the right a similar scene but the caption reads The Muslim Confederacy invades Iran. The Center screen Displaces the Flags of the European Union and between them the Corporate Logos of the well known Corporations of these countries. A man off stage receives a nod and brings up the volume of both screens, the building begins to shake as the large cones do what they do best, the effect separate as they were, caused everyone to look left and right as the scenes of fighting rose and fell between the screens, below them the curtain is drawn and Seven men and a woman step forward. Screens above them now showing the best of the best commercials of these few Executives, between them stand David Cameron, Nicolas Sarkozy, Angela Merkel and Ezzard Clipse.
Ezzard steps up to the podium and pulls a folded note from his inner coat pocket and places it beside the microphone. Everyone looks around realizing the place is silent, not even a whisper.
Standing feet shoulder length apart and hands firmly grasping that folded paper and tears it in half, he smiles and leans into the microphone and says It's your choice, If you feel War is the answer come on up and sign your name, if you don't agree, do nothing at all and Peace prevails.

This morning promptly after the news these esteemed guests joined me for a meeting, I can tell you now that none of these guests were jumping for joy hearing of the UN Secretary General's proposal
After some deliberation they come to the conclusion that Vladimir Putin's ambition to hold the office is now eclipsed by comparison to his new proposal. We feel he is on the right track or was, but then he turned sharply Right!
We agree that these Leaders must be asked to settle their differences and again enjoy a peaceful life, They know that War is not the way, it consumes everything its its path,
Our Legacy with the help of these fine Corporations can bring further prosperity to you and the World. We propose our focus be on offering them employment, our Executives would gladly open new operations that could spread and then you use the Hammer not for War but to Build a Future

Funny how Tigranes can't go a post without worrying about Iranian oil...
In a serious note - is there any reason we have a "Time" victory after only 100 turns on Marathon speed? I realize there isn't much of the tech tree left, but my spies tell me there doesn't appear to be anyone who will get to future tech within 100 marathon turns. And this game is turning out to be one of my favorites, I'd hate to be forced to stop randomly sometime next year.
I propose we all agree to nix the time victory and keep playing as long as we like until we hit one of the other victory conditions... assuming everyone is still interested of course. Thoughts?

I agree. I did not realize that when I switched to Marathon speed the Time Victory limit did not change automatically.
In my test games as America (I was planning to be USA) only Saudies traded Oil with me. AI simply does not trade Oil, especially for that low price I got from Iran after I traded a tech to them
. I guess Iran did not have too many friends to trade with. I want that Iranian deal back! I need to build culture in Volgograd for 30 turns to hook that Caspian Oil Rig. I have sent 10 Workers to build a Well in Siberia, Murmansk was pumping Culture from the beginning of the game to get that Arctic Oil in our hands. Oil corporations are the most useful ones in this game, they boost hummers and commerce for small, inefficient Russian cities in Asia for the price of 50 golds!

Oil is a hot commodity for a reason...
thats the problem with test games though. The AI absolutely does NOT compare with human intelligence. It truly amazes me the things humans think of involving this game. And the different personalities people take in games is astounding. All of that results in completely different AI behavior too. Thats what makes this game so great, no game is the same, especially when humans are involved. I've surprised myself with what I'm doing with the Muslim bloc

But look at AI North Korea! In my games Iran was always a loyal vassal of China, and North Korea simply disbands all that troops Barbarian King gave them. In this game they starve because of the South Korean culture but still kept all the troops and got them as far as Iran! I am really astonished by this AI vigor! You see, unless you change something hardcoded in DLL there is no way to prevent AI from disbanding troops... Or there is -- just start the war very first turn 
But then -- why did Iran disbanded all of their troops? There is nothing there to protect Tehran, and even if some great power sells them arms 
there is no garantee stupid AI will not disband them next turn.

America has already committed to leaving the Middle East. We are reverting to an "Isolationist Policy", much like the Real Obama has done.
OC: I believe in order to avoid disbanding, you need to give every unit experience and a promotion in the starting scenario. It worked in my mod.
