He was alive last election and endorsed Biden. My point is mostly the same group of celebs endorsed trump vs the Biden or Harris in 2020 and 2024 so that is irrelevant as to why trump won this time.

edit: hispanic men in a landslide (as a demographic of people) voted for Biden in 2020 and Trump in 2024.

Endorsements don't matter. More rich out of touch celebrities yay.

 Where was the device you're typing this on made?

You're in lala land
Once the Foxconn-type assembly lines for making phones are completely automated, China will have unemployment problems.

Natural endowments, infrastructure, institutions. Not manpower.

China's currently has the best industrial ecosystem and infrastructure. It doesn't have to be this way. The US of A can easily create something better.

but at least they were pro fascist and anti democracy

Bit of a typo you've got there, but honestly, I'm not sure the pre-Trump GOP really was pro democracy (see Florida, 2000)

Chuckled at everyman, that's a stretch, quotes noted. Joe Rogan the 200 million dollar everyman, Theo von the 5 million dollar everyman, Tucker Carlson, Logan Paul, Dr. Phil all qualify as an everyman? Influencers yes, everyman no.

As Narz said, all of them give off very much of an everyman vibe, because they're all complete fudging morons, so a lot of the general public relates to them.

Yes I said it backwards I’m sleep deprived. What
Happened in Florida 2000 was wrong but that’s not the same as the president ordering an attsck
On the capital.

Trump being completely hostile to Democracy doesn't mean the Republican party is generally in favor of it.

Name any other president in US history who did something like what Trump did Jan 6. James Buchanan is considered by many to be one of the worst US presidents for not preventing the us civil war. However simply not preventing a civil war isn't as bad as actively encouraging treason yourself.

Now watch Trump take credit for the infrastructure and improving economy which are already on the way.
Bets on him saying that “I built the most beautiful infrastructure the world has ever seen”?

A lot of people (the non racist, non misogyinstic, non anti lbgt ones) who voted for Trump did so because of inflation and the cost of groceries. While those are legitimate problems Trump will make them worse, not better.

Yes that seems to be a problem, I did a quick search the issue is fairly well researched, should not be hard to remedy it.

For the past 8 weeks, I have been amazed while food shopping in SW Europe, including France, Spain, and Portugal. Fruits and vegetables are 30-50-70 percent less expensive, and usually, they are organic and much better quality (flavorful and aromatic). Poultry has been 30-50 percent less costly, and seafood is extremely fresh, with much local variety, far better quality, and 50-75 percent less expensive.

What steps could we take to reduce our food expense and quality:

  1. Buy fresh food that is grown locally.
  2. Buy food that is seasonal.
  3. Buy direct from local growers. For seafood, look for sources of locally caught seafood options (lakes, rivers, and sea as is feasible with where you live).
  4. Accept food of varying sizes, colors, and shapes.
  5. When you can, support your local organic markets.
  6. Insist upon high-quality food, or skip it.

Electing a clown for president will likely not help :)

If things improve, it will be riding Biden’s coattails.
If things worsen, it will be Trump’s fault.

Can’t have both.

"if things worsen" !== "Trump will make them worse". There's a difference between economy things happening, and Trump actively making them worse. Even if that's just a prediction.

So, assuming you're quoting the words as-said, they don't actually conflict.

So having had eight years of varieties on we hate Donald Trump in this forum,
I suppose, unless relieved by death, his or mine, I can expect another four.

This demonisation of the Donald didn't stop him getting elected in 2016 or 2024,
but then I suppose its an if whipping the boy don't cure him, whip him some more.

Such repetitive invective merely damages the ability to view him objectively.

I think he is, objectively speaking, a clown, an opinion like any other innit ?

People likely voted for him because they think it is fun. His public appearances are more like stand-up comedy.

He made his fame by playing a succesful businessman in a TV show. You might as well elect Mickey Mouse.

People voting for Trump "because he's funny" was probably somewhat true in 2016. Today, he's both much less fun (age definitely taking its toll) and has a much darker legacy. It's not about laughing anymore. The scale of his victory seems to imply a definite vote "against" and a strong rejection of something from the other side.

Has anyone trying to view Trump objectively not fallen for the trap of not noticing that most people aren't, and failing to account for that?

Yes you can! But I suspect vice versa is more likely.
