I returned the DVD last night and found out that there was additional stuff during and after the credits which I missed. I hate when they put crap after the credits start to roll.

Can anyone tell me what exactly happened?

I believe you see/hear them on the private island they went to and they were eaten there.

So everyone dies. Sad.

Yup.

I wasn't sad. All the cool characters had already been killed. I was kind of hoping the left overs would all die.

Lol... I remember this.

I was walking out of the cinema, and then other stuff started to come up, so me and half the cinema stood by the doors watching the last little bits.

Basically, they find a camera on steves boat, and some of it is them filming each other, and then they get to the island, only to realise its full of hungry zombies.

You hear lots of screaming, and some gunfire, but can't really see anything, and then the camera gets dropped too the floor and the credits roll for real.

Best bit was the ending:

It plays like the blair witch project: Showing what happens on the yaht. Finding themselves short on food and fuel they drif astray. (ironicly the most cowardly and useless of them all the rich playboy would have been able to navigate the yaht)

The find a decaptiated head in a lifeboat (which was nicely done. One of the few parts which genuianly frightened me)

Beached on an island, or unknown landmark they are attacked by zombis and finally overrun.

as far as endings go: This one big thumbs up

Adding that bit in the credits was a negative to the film I thought, I much perfer having a hopeful ending

I love the zombie genre and could go on for pages about a lot of great movies. But if you liked the remake of Dawn, check out the original if you can find it. Yes, the production value is a lot more limited, but the scares and gore are better, and the movie actually has a point of view.

Not that I didn't like the new one. It was a terrific remake, and the scenes on the roof are just the best.

Is there another Dawn of the Dead? I thought dawn was a remake of Night of the Living, just following the same premise? was it the same basic story?

The original Dawn of the Dead was a sequel to Night of the Living Dead, it was a similar story, same zombie invasion.

Niice, i'm more of a fan of the evil dead series personally.

Nah, in a zombie pic that is a suitable ending. :goodjob:

The addition of this manipulation of the audience:

makes it even better. :goodjob:

That would be Dawn of the dead, Night of the dead and Land of the dead
completing the trilogy. Although rumours of a fourth film to be made.

Day of the dead IIRC was by a different director

I remember seeing it in the cinema, it was just pure luck I stayed during the credits. I hope everyone who is going to see X-Men 3 remembers to stay until the end of the credits. There's a pretty important scene at the end.

You do not RC. Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead and Land of the Dead are all of Romero's zombie films.

Aye, as said above, it went Night of the Living Dead -> Dawn of the Dead (my favourite) -> Day of the Dead -> Night of the Living Dead Remake (directed by Tom Savini) -> Dawn of the Dead remake (I don't know who directed this one) -> Land of the Dead (by Romero, but not one of his best... still decent though).

I've seen all of the Romero movies before (except the newest) and prefer them to the new zombie movies. I even went to highschool with his son, Cam.

I live in Pittsburgh and have been to the location of the Original Dawn of the Dead, Monroeville Mall. It added to the creep factor when the locations announced in Night of the Living Dead are all locations you're familair with and are pretty close.

As far as productions values, Night has some of the worst production values ever, but its still a classic.

In a proper zombie movie, that is the only ending.

;)

Exactly! Just think of the original Night of the Living Dead
Spoiler :

Even after surviving tyhe entire zombie onslaught, the main character still gets shot in the head for looking too much like a zombie! Depressing and classic...
